Trip to Hawaii at 6 months pregnant...
DH and I were talking last night and we have loads of rewards points through our Amex card. We can go to Hawaii for 7 nights and stay at a nice hotel for free! DH has never been to Hawaii and I want to take him. I will technically still be in my 2nd trimester when this trip would happen (end of March).
I looked up some things last night and I am limited with what I can do (no bike riding, no diving, no swimming with dolphins...don't even know if this is an option there, but whatever, no riding on certain boats).
Regardless of the things I can't do, I can still go snorkeling and be in beautiful Hawaii with DH...and I think it's important we take this last trip together while we can.
Would you do it? If you wouldn't, what would hold you back?

I honestly would be scared to plan a trip not knowing how I MIGHT feel in a couple of months. I am a bit too worried to schedule a trip that far.
It's more of a "what if" for me.
Otherwise, I think relaxing there, etc.. would be a great idea.

I went on a cruise in my 2nd trimester and I LOVED every second of the trip.
I will always remember that trip because it was the last one we took as a "married couple" and I love looking at pics from the tip seeing my lil belly bump...

I probably would do it.
You never know when you might be able to get back there and when you have your baby, I think you'll be a lot more limited with your "can't" list than you even are now in terms of a Hawaiian vacation.
If you are feeling good now, I wouldn't suspect there'd be reason to worry at 6 mos., but talk to your doctor if you're concerned.
I don't dive or ride bikes, so you can send the tickets on over this way if you're not going to use them

VERY good point...I am going to be much more limited in what I can do AFTER the baby arrives.

I would definitely go! Even if you can't do to many activities, it will be nice just to get away from cold weather and spend some relaxing alone time with DH.

as much as I LOVED LOVED Hawaii, I probably wouldnt go just because the flight is so tiring, it is a long trip and it takes toll on your body...

Best thing I ever did was go to Cancun for a week when I was 6 months pg. I laid by the pool all day, went to dinner at night and just relaxed in paradise.
Two years later almost and I have YET to take even a few days for a vacay...
DO IT!!!!!!!

I would do it but clear it with your doctor first since there is a lot of flying involved. We're thinking of taking a vacation in March with our DS before the baby comes in June. It will be nice to get away and rest up before we encounter sleepless nights again. Enjoy and have fun!

honestly, I think I would go somewhere closer. If you have a direct flight it's 10-11 hours on the plane - that could be torture! I flew in my early 2nd trimester and was just incredibly uncomfortable for 5 hours - I couldn't imagine 2 5+ hour trips or a 10-11 hour trip. JMO

I'm not pregnant, but I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon. The place trip was so far. You might be extremely uncomfortable.

My only reservation about you going to Hawaii is the longa$$ flight. I know how long it was when I wasn't pregnant. I can't imagine it being preggo.
I am all for a nice relaxing vacation though before your little one is born. Maybe someplace closer? Save the miles for a vaca after the baby is born and you need a little alone time? Just my honest opinion. It's a far trip.

Definitely go! I'm in my second trimester now and just booked a trip for this weekend (4 days) to Bermuda. It will be nice to have that last hurrah before the baby comes. I've very excited!
