Trying to make peace - It is getting easier
I just got back from presurgical testing for my procedure next week at NSUH. It wasnt really a big deal once I was taken, in fact, the PA who took my info and bloods was lovely. WAITING to be taken was a bit too long for my personal taste. I was about to throw something at Regis and Kelly after waiting almost an hour and a half.
So many thoughts are swirling through my head in anticipation of next week and I was trying to stay calm. I was sitting there, trying to use self-soothing strategies that I teach my students everyday. All of a sudden, wouldn't you know it, but a commercial for the Gardisil HPV vaccine comes on. That just about put me over the top. I wanted to shout "Where the EFF was it when I needed it." I could be a Mom by now.
That of course was followed by yet another airing of our President doing that goofy dance and banging on drums. I looked at the guy next to me and said "I am not responsible for this, I voted for Gore and Kerry." We both were laughing.
After leaving there, I did feel as if I was in the best hands. The PA spoke highly of Dr. Rosenfeld and she put me at ease. This is going to be one hell of a long week.
Thanks for listening to me whine once again. I just needed to vent a lil bit.

Thanks everyone. I just wanna get this over with and move forward already. Today I realized that not only is it this cycle I miss out on TTC but probably the next one too so my body can recover from what needs to be done. Intellectually I know that is not a lot of time to lose but I am not thrilled with that.

I am having a diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy as well as a D and C. I have a very stenotic cervix as a result of a laser procedure/cone biopsy that left scarring. The scarring is preventing me from getting pregnant. At the same time, my tubes will be checked since I was not able to complete an HSG because the opening of my cervix is too narrow to accept a catheter without causing damage. I have to be put out under a general anesthetic. The whole thing wont take very long but will give the doctor a lot of information - enough to figure out where to go from here.

I would love it if he could be there when I woke up but I would imagine it would violate all sorts of health codes.

Leslie, I am happy to hear that you are getting a lot of the diagnostics out of the way and at the same time! YOu're right about not having alot of time lost. In a way you are saving time by getting your testing done. You will be fine!!! Good Luck!
