Trying to stay strong on being on team green
Of course there is the part of me that is dying to find out the sex, esp since I have absolutely no idea/feeling one way or the other what the baby is. I really really want to stay team green though. I'm getting back my amnio results any second and have my anatomy scan next week. It's just really hard right now KNOWING I can find out as soon as the peri calls with the amnio results! I think I'm also just looking for a bright spot and something to be excited about right now. Just very stressed out with packing/moving this week, started work again last week.

Re: Trying to stay strong on being on team green
It is sooooo hard sometimes to stay on team green. I know I could just make one phone call and find out anytime...and it can be tempting - I can sympathize!
But you can do it! Just think of how amazing it will be at the end...good luck!!!

Go !!! I think once you found out you would be excited, but then like "Oh". All the anticipation of waiting to find out is over, and you can't go back. I would be when I found out then that I did I think a few days later. you can do it

Re: Trying to stay strong on being on team green
Michal, I have no words of wisdom except good luck! Being Team Green versus finding out is a personal decision. As far as I am concerned, I will be Team Green for 16 weeks! You will know what to do either way! Don't get down on yourself!
Think of it this way-if you find out, you might have to change the paint color in the baby's room! You don't want that right now! (As much as I want to know right now!)

I was team green for both my children. While some people might try to sway you to find out (I know that we got it from EVERYONE), keep in mind that you can never "un-know", but you will find out eventually . To me, there was no greater sound than than when the doc said, "it's a boy". I still get choked up when I think about it

Re: Trying to stay strong on being on team green
man I feel your pain Yesterday was so hard for me, but in the end I'm very glad I stayed Of course I want to know, but I want that moment when Peanut is born when they say It's a ............. even more! Finding my Green bedding made the decision easier for me, and saying the second I walked in I didn't want to know was better. I can't say anything about the amnio since I have not had one, but just focus on how you want to find out and let that be your stength.

Re: Trying to stay strong on being on team green
I know just how you feel! When I was about 19 weeks I got a real itch to find out, but I'm so glad I didn't. I'm almost 26 weeks now and I'm really loving guessing what our is and hearing what other people are guessing, too!
I had a shower last weekend and so many people said "good for you" for not finding out - I think they admire my stubborness LOL. Some days I really do want to know (when I get tired of the lack of cute gender neutral clothing - if I see one more yellow duck I might puke!), but I'm so glad we've waited this long.
You can do it! Go team !!

This is exactly what I'm feeling - that I know if I did find out, I'd be so excited and then ****** that I did find out!!!
Thanks for the support, greenies! I'm going to need it to not crack and find out!
I think what's keeping me from finding out is that of course 1000x over - all I really want is a healthy baby, BUT, I think I'd be tickled pink to have a little girl first and I don't want to feel down for one moment if they tell me boy. I don't want to have to get used to the idea of having a boy and I know if I wait until the baby's born - it won't matter then because I'll have my baby.

I had similar feelings. Of course I wanted a healthy baby, but I had always imagined having a girl. I really didn't have any strong feelings about what we were having. There were times when I thought we were having a boy and then towards the end, I was getting girl vibes.
I'm so glad we waited to find out. It was the most amazing moment in the delivery room when DH told me we had a boy. There was not a single moment where I was sad about not having a girl. I was so excited to be a mom and meet my baby. Even though I thought I had a preference, now that I have DS, I don't know why I wanted a girl more. I absolutely love having a boy and I can't imagine my life any other way.

Re: Trying to stay strong on being on team green
The first time I hung in there b/c it was something I could give DH. We both wanted to be Team but it got me more excited for him b/c that's the part that's about him (in my mind). The entire pregnancy is mostly about me, but when DH gets to announce the sex - it's his little moment. And honestly nothing sweeter than to hear DH boast that he got his boy (but if it were a girl he'd be boasted he got his little girl)
This time, I'm doing it again b/c it could be our last baby and honestly the second time around is a bit less exciting due to the chaos from actually having #1 that I feel like this is what keeps it exciting.
Go Team
Hang in there!!
