TTC and working out
Just out of curiosity, are there certain work outs you shouldn't do when TTC or should you go about your normal excerise?
I usually run on the tredmill for 30 minutes per day and excerise to a work out on FITTV for 30 minutes every other day which include, light weight lifting, abs, and squating.
Can this effect TTC?
I was thinking about this and if I'm working out too much. Should I begin to slow things down a bit?
Any comments or advice would greatly be appreciated

Re: TTC and working out
working out is to your advantage when ttc. When you are prego then you shouldn't do sit ups and lift heavy weights...

Re: TTC and working out
One more dumb question, is it safe to wear a sauna belt when running?
I'm sure it is right now but is not smart when pg.

What is a sauna belt?
I know how you feel, last month was my first month TTC and I always take a Cardio Kick boxing class where I am bouncing around a lot and I was worried "What if I am PG and I knock the embryo loose by jumping around a lot" but I doubt that's possible. Some women run marathons when PG. Needless to say, I was not PG and it could take me who knows how long to get PG and you can't stop doing your norm until you get the BFP. At least that's my plan.
Good luck to you and lots of

Both my regular OB/GYN and my RE said it was fine.

A sauna belt is an elastic belt with a rubber inside which makes you sweat even more.
I hear ya. I start thinking of things I never put a lot of thought into when it comes to TTC and always wonder if it would effect it.
Well, thanks for answering and good luck to you as well!!

Re: TTC and working out
i wouldn't change your workout routine while ttc at all. when you're pregnant you may have to modify the intensity of your workouts to some extent as you get further along, but no need to do it until you're significantly pregnant.

Re: TTC and working out
Yeah I wondered the same thing, but the difference with me is that I have been very lazy, gained weight and have NOT exercised in a very long time.
We've just started TTC and wanted to know if it wiil TTC while starting to exercise again?

Re: TTC and working out
When I was ttc my regular workout was 35 minutes of running. I ran at about 5.5 mph for most of the workout. I also lifted weights. It didn't affect conception for me.
After I found out I was pregnant, I couldn't run anymore due to breast soreness. Now I walk briskly for a half hour and/or ride the stationary bike. Sometimes I do the elliptical. But I cut out the weights and sit ups.

Re: TTC and working out
I had asked my DR this when I went for my exam.
You can slow down your exercise once you get pregnant.........but exercising vigorously shouldn't have any effect on TTC.
It's once you are at that stage, they want you to tone it down.......just at a lower heart rate.
I wouldnt stop what you are doing.

Re: TTC and working out
I'm not changing anything about my workout routine while TTC. Although doing ab exercises does make me a little nervous.

Re: TTC and working out
You should continue what you are doing. If you get pg, if all is ok with your pregnancy, you should be able to keep working out, just monitoring your heart rate. Of course, when you are pregnant is NOT the time to start a new workout program that your body is not used to. Your dr would fill you in on that.
I conceived a day or two after I ran a half marathon, so working out does not prevent you from conceiving!!
