Tub vs full size shower stall in master bathroom?
The bathroom in my master bedroom currently has a full size shower stall, not a bathtub. We are getting ready to re-do that bathroom, and are trying to decide if we should leave it as a full size shower stall, or if we should replace it with a bathtub.
I personally don't care either way--it's been a shower stall since we moved in. Ultimately, we won't be staying in the house much longer, so I was wondering what would be better in terms of selling the house? Would it be more marketable with a tub in there? There's already a tub in the other bathroom, if that makes a difference?

Re: Tub vs full size shower stall in master bathroom?
For me, the full size shower stall is better in a master suite. As long as there is a tub in the main bath w the bedrooms, you're good.
It's easier to clean and More spacious.
I put a small shelf in lower corner of mine to use as a foot rest for shaving. Life changer!!!!

Re: Tub vs full size shower stall in master bathroom?
Most buyers want at least one tub in the house that they could use to bathe kids and pets.
If the main family bath has a tub, then I would just leave the master as a walk in shower stall. Bathing kids/pets are not an issue in a master bath. Many master bathrooms only have a shower (in fact, for older people, a walk-in shower is a plus). A more high end master bath usually has a separate tub and shower (not a combo), but your typical master bath has only a shower stall.

I hate baths so I'd prefer a big walk in shower.

When we redid our master bath we doubled the size of the bathroom and expanded the shower stall to be much bigger and to include a built in bench. We also have a tub in the main bath. I would leave the master bath with the shower since you have a tub in the main bathroom.

Thank you for all the input! We will leave it as a shower stall, and I will definitely look into the foot rest or bench... don't have one of those right now, and shaving can be interesting!

Personally, I love baths, so I would want a tub. But as long as there is one tub in the house it shouldn't affect resale, so you are fine just keeping the large stall.
