Re: tummy time
I have the same problem with my DD. She freaks out whenever I put her on her tummy. Lately I have been propping her arms underneath her and she seems to be able to tolerate it for a bout 2 minutes longer. Have you tried the boppy?

Re: tummy time
rip his diaper off....I guarentee he will enjoy it more.
I use to lay my baby down on a ton of cloth diapers.

Re: tummy time
I make sure I'm eye level with DD when we do tummy time. I usually put her on the chaise end of my couch and and sit on the floor so we're face to face and I cheer her on the whole time.

Re: tummy time
never too early for tummy time, it helps make their necks stronger.. My DD loved the different view she got, laying on back can get boring. Also try using so toys and play when on tummy..

Re: tummy time
You can start tummy time at any age, but the sooner the better.
DS hated this in the begiinning, and still doesn't love it. I put him on his tummy a couple minutes at a time, a few times a day in the begiinning. Try it in his crib, he actually liked that better than on his playmat. When he was little and less squirmy, I put him on his tummy on my chest, and he liked that also.
When it gets easier for them, they usually tolerate it better I think.

Re: tummy time
At 8 months DS still HATES it...there is no way of getting him to stay on his belly...once he learned how to roll that was it...the minute I put him on his belly, he flips.
