Tummy time? Another Question??
my dd is 3m old, and I try to do tummy time with her, but she puts her face down into the blanket. I tried the wedge with mirror, and she just slides down it.
I also put her arms under her, to hold her up, she keeps the right arm there and swings the left around, but thats only for a bit, then puts her face back into blanket. I get nervous something will happen (even tho im always right next to her during tummy time)
My sis says i really need to keep her there and the doc. will check her soon to make sure things are getting stronger..
I need ideas on how to help my dd get the strength, how do you do tummy time?
Another Question:: After you put on tummy, do you do anything?? Like do you call the babys name, or show them toys??? or just watch them?

Your sister is right. At our 4 month visit the doctor wasn't happy with DDs strength and the fact that she isn't pulling up more. Now, we are on a strict Tummy Time schedule. 3xs a day, 10 minutes. It's already helping and it has only been 2 weeks. She hates it, but needs to suffer through it because it is good for her. Good luck!

Re: Tummy time?
I put him on the pillow that came with the playmat because he gets lazy sometimes and does that too.

I agree, this worked with both my kids. That and the playmat. They would pull their heads up to look at the patterns on the mat.

Re: Tummy time? Another Question??
I used to let DS get a little frustrated and then he would get over it and start to move stuff. It was great for his head strength. I would talk baby talk and wiggle toys in front. Sometimes roll him from his back to his belly to make it a game and then get really excited when he was on his belly.

Re: Tummy time? Another Question??
Michael hated tummy time and did the same thing as your DD. He would bury his face in the blanket. I started putting him on the boppy and wiggling a toy in front of him, and engaging him that way helped a lot! We do tummy time 2-3 times a day for about 10-15 minutes each time. His neck muscles are pretty strong. He sits upright while being held and also pulls himself up while holding my fingers...of course I help him out.

Re: Tummy time? Another Question??
I always let DS "roll" onto his belly. I would lead him with the opposite leg and roll him onto his belly..then when he got tired of tummy time I would "roll" him onto his back by leading with his head..He always enjoyed doing it that way better than being placed onto his belly. Maybe this helped him like to be on his belly b/c it was about rolling and belly????

Re: Tummy time? Another Question??
He hated tummy time - and I had to do it bc he was getting flat head.
I bought the mat with the little tummy time boppy and that really helped a lot.

We have a mirror she likes, we shake toys, make faces at her and try to get her to reach for stuff.
