personally I would not do it. And I am definitely NOT anti-tc (my dd watches alot) but it will be a long time before she has a tv in her room (very long time - like 13) 
I do not want her dependent on the TV to fall asleep
that said, do what works for you

We plan on putting one in his room soon. (He is about to turn 3) We went back and forth on the idea, but then my company gave us a 19 inch flat screen tv with attached DVD player. We figured that was the perfect size for him.
