Re: Twilight Movie
I thought it was pretty cheesy. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be- but not as good as the book (they NEVER are though)
Kristen Stewart was TERRIBLE she does the same blinking head shake thing to express EVERY emotion.
The scene where she admits she knows Edward's a vampire was the worst. He went crazy and the camera was flipping to all different angles- it made me dizzy.
I think the other one's will be better as the actor's fall into their characters more.
I was swooning a bit over Edward though Although- I still like Jacob

i think i have to agree .... it was pretty cheesy ... and i think if you dont read the book your def. not going to like it or understand .... if they make the other ones i am hopping will be better cause hopefully the will have more money to make them ... in the end it was good!!

Re: Twilight Movie
It definately didn't live up to the book, but I didn't really expect it to. I feel like they left out ALOT of crucial stuff, and the actors seemed like they were constipated in the beginning.
Also- what was with the wind chime sound effects when Edward glittered?
It was cute-i'll definately see the rest of them when they come out.

I loved it too. It was very faithful to the book and I'm officially a member of the Robert Pattinson fan club. Kristen Stewart played the part a bit too seriously IMO, I don't think she smiled once.

i agree with some of the 'cheese' factor - but it was a good movie. The 'awkwardness' of Edward was VERY fun to watch.... I didn't have a problem with Bella though...
The 'shimmer' part - it was SO much better in my head....

I agree about the shimmering. That was a bit of a letdown. It basically looked like they thew some glitter on his face.

Re: Twilight Movie
I can't wait to see the movie after hearing about these reviews.
About the shimmering:
I'm afraid it won't live up to what's in my head. In my head I see this shimmering coming from his whole body radiating out to the world like a diamond. I have a feeling it's not going to be like that.

But the book was for teenagers too and while the writing wasnt extraordinary she does an amazing job setting the scene and developing her characters so that you feel invested in the story and the fantasy world that she creates.
I am not expecting much from the movie because I ALWAYS like the books better. But its a fun guilty pleasure!

ITA
The book was far superior, but I think the movie was a decent adaptation.

I agree.
In regards to the shimmering, as others have commented on it, I thought it was laughable...I actually chuckled. NOT what I pictured when I read it at all.

Re: Twilight Movie
Just got back from seeing the movie.
I was disappointed with it. It did stay true to the book so I think my problem with it was the acting and the quickness of some of the scenes. What was with Jasper? Whenever they showed him, people in the audience were laughing. He looked like he was painfully constipated. I thought James, Victoria and the other guy were cast perfectly.
My friend and her boyfriend saw it with me, and he loved it and he never read the book. She felt the same way I did.

Re: Twilight Movie
I LOVED it! Edwards part was done great i think! Bella's eye twitching thing annoyed me a little and the shimmering part with the sound effect was dumb but overall i really enjoyed it and felt that they did a great job adapting the book into a movie
Im now going to go to bed dreaming of Edward because im in love
With there be a second movie? if so i cant wait!!!!!!

Re: Twilight Movie
THey are waiting to see how much the first movie makes before starting to film another one, but from one of the interviews the scripts for the next two books has been written.
I liked the movie, but felt it was corny in some parts. I didnt really like the special effects in the wood scene or the glitter part. I think the movie would have been fine without it. I guess it had to be a part to emphasis the special powers he has as a vampire.
Overall it was a good movie with some cheesy parts. Im surprised DH liked it. It wasnt overly romantic, but whatever scenes they did have were great. YOu could definitely feel the passion.

Re: Twilight Movie
I saw Twilight yesterday. While I did enjoy the movie I was a bit disappointed. There was so much missing in the movie that was in the book. If you did not read the book you would have no clue about it by just watching the movie. I do understand that the movie would have been like 8 hours if indeed all was included. I did love it though. Edward is so sexy. At first I did not like the character and I had a different "picture" of him in my head, but as the movie went on he totally grew on me. The book was definitely better but I did like the movie a lot! I can't wait to see more! I think I am going to reread the series again because I am back in the obssession!!!
