Two dogs that never stop barking.

I know this is the token "neighbor complaint" but our neighbors have 2 dogs that they leave out all day that NEVER stop barking. They let them out at the @ss crack of dawn even on the weekends! I am a big animal lover but I seriously am having thoughts like Elaine did on that Seinfeld episode These dogs wake us up and its just constant barking all day long. It's starting to make me delusional.

Silly question other than speaking to the neighbors is there anything else we can do? File a complaint?

that seems like animal abuse to me. they're probably barking b/c they're cold, hungry, upset, etc and want to go inside....

i dont know the laws about this, but it may be worth looking into. call your town hall or something and ask them the law on this...

Seriously though, that stinks! We had that a couple of years ago and it was very hard - and I'm a huge animal lover but it is actually SAD that these people don't care about their animals and leave them out all the time.

You could call the town or your local ASPCA - that is what we did - they came and warned them once or twice and they still did not stop so they came and actually had them sign over ownership of the dogs and that was it - it was THAT bad of a problem - and the dogs were given up for adoption and found a great home with people who actually CARE!

It was a happy ending all around - hope that helps!

thanks! I am definitely going to do this. I can't take it anymore- and I feel bad for the dogs (even though I want them to go away)

I love animals too, I have dogs too and I would be VERY annoyed. For myself, for the animals, etc.

I would make a complaint to the town that the animals are being noisy, and also m ake a complaint to Suffolk or Nassau APSCA that the dogs aren't taken care of properly.

That is not fair to YOU or the dogs.

If the dogs are left without proper shelter (At least a 3 sided-structure) and clean food & water source it is abuse. Please file a complain. Make it anonymous if it makes you more comfortable, but as annoying as it is for you (and I can understand how hard it is to listen to barking all day), it is endangering their lives.

OMG do you live in Massapequa? My mom's neighbor- who is such TRASH (newspaper covers his WINDOWS because he's too lazy, cheap, whatever to get window treatments! ) leaves his two VERY loud dogs out all day. I was visiting the other day and it was driving me NUTS. So glad I don't live there anymore!!! That jerk is disgusting.
