Two kids in in-home day care
Hello, I was wondering about a fair price for paying my sitter for two children rather than my one right now. She currently watches my daughter (who is now eighteen months old) from around 6:30-3:30 on a daily basis revolving around my husband's schedule since sometimes he is home with my daughter. Sometimes she watches her four days a week sometimes less. We pay her 50.00 a day. We have a little boy on the way now and she will watch him too. However, I want to offer her a fair price for watching both of our kids.
Is 80.00 a fair offer for both children? I know that daycare centers give discounts. Can someone let me know what they think? Or do you think we should offer her more?
Thanks so much!

Re: Two kids in in-home day care
I'm not in your situation but honestly, I think $80/day to watch a toddler and an infant for 9hrs isn't enough - even if you provide all diapers, wipes, snacks, formula, juice, milk, etc. I'd think $100-$120/day is more realistic.
ETA: I also think $50/day to watch a toddler is too little, but that's JMHO.

Re: Two kids in in-home day care
we pay $75 per day for one child (at a licensed in home) and it will be $135 for two.

Re: Two kids in in-home day care
For 2 kids I'd say at least $100 a day.

Re: Two kids in in-home day care
I use to charge (licensed group daycare) 50 dollars a day per child. If it was a full week for both children a 20 dollar a week discount for the second child was given. I provided meals and snacks, including baby cereal and baby food. I did not provide formula or diapers/wipes.

Two kids in in-home day care
My kids used to go to a licensed in home day care and she charged $6 an hour per child, no sibling discount. She provided breakfast and lunch, I provided diapers, wipes, etc.

Two kids in in-home day care
Currently I pay $7/hr for a licensed in home daycare. When we have a 2nd child, it would be $10.50/hr for both children.
I watch 4 children 3 days per week. I am paid $50/day.

I too pay 50.00 a day for 8:30-5:30 in home, I provide food, diapers, wipes. (We just got bumped to 55.00 though starting February)
I would think at that rate 80.00 a day for 2 is a fair amount.

Re: Two kids in in-home day care
We paid $100 a day to our sitter for watching our two sons from 10am-5pm.
