Ugghhh-Perfect People with perfect families, friends...
I know this girl who with every conversation has to always say that her family or friends are just so perfect. Their husbands are just the greatest (they NEVER would want their wives to work-ugghhh!), their kids are just the cutest things, never bad, etc. It can drive you bonkers sometimes!!
In one sentence she will say how so and so makes soooo much money but then you will hear them on the phone with them how they can't pay their bills-??!! I don't get it. Does it make them feel better that they have to tell everyone these things?

I have a friend like that.. goes on and on about how perfect her life is.. i know that it isn't which makes me laugh inside. i just let her think what she wants to think though.

those are the same people thaat copy me if i do something or buy something....they will run out and buy the same thing or if i tel la story they have a better story
take it as a form of flattery....they must think you are pretty great if they are trying soo hard to impress you.
think about it, do you rub your good fortune in the face of people who have less than you? nope! but the people who have more, you want to impress or show off to (not you, but people in general)....

True. I tell the truth, I am poor, I am a working mother because I have to pay the bills, my kids can drive me nuts and my dh DO fight every once in awhile. I am NOT perfect and no one is!!

How people portray themselves isn't always how they are.
My BF for example...super unhappy with her entire life (as a woman, wife, mom) yet she goes on every day buyingnew things and pretending. Fix what's wrong with you!! Life is too damn short!!

Yes, she does this too, buys and buys and buys. She really has "nothing". No dh, no home, no kids. BUT, everyone else she knows just has the most perfect lives. I would LOVE to meet these dh's who are working tons of hours so their wives can stay home. She makes it sound like a fairy tale. EVERYTHING is a fairy tale to her!!!!

You have to just feel bad for people who are so insecure that they need to either leave details out about their lives or embellish them. It has to be pretty hard keeping up a facade like that, don't you think? I just think about how bad I'd have to feel to want to glaze my life over, and it makes me sad for those people.

The only perfect family I've ever seen is the Brady Bunch - and in the end Mrs. Brady has something on the side with Greg - and the poor dad died of AIDS.
I would just ignore them.

It's just that I have heard about all these people for so many years and more just get added into the bunch over the years and they ALL are just so great. Not ONE has to work (god forbid-I don't know if she says this to make me feel like a horrible mother or doesn't realize it) because their dh would NEVER want them to. Neither does my dh but we really have no choice so I do the mature thing and work and take care of my kids.

This is a good way of looking at it.
People like this drive me NUTS (like my neighbor who is always rubbing his son's PERFECT lifestyle in my DHs face) but this is new way of looking at it...interesting.

No Mel, she has major debt, is a SAHM, no income other than DH's, no house, no savings.  She has a shopping addiction...and buying things (electronics, designer Italian clothes for the babies, she always has the latest bag, shoes, clothes, etc....but she doesn't work!!  where is she going to wear the "gauchos" to? )
Again, if they had the money, this would be OK...if they had a house or savings or something...but she has nothing...just CC debt. And is sooooo unhappy...please fix your life!!
