Ugh, Eyewitness News...

Reporting on how a pitbull and sharpei attacked a little boy.

Grerat, more bad press for the PB... Chat Icon

Just what the breed needs.

I want to add that I feel TERRIBLE that this little boy was attacked, but I'd love to know the full story, like what kind of living conditions were the dogs living in? How were they being taken care of. Did the owners try to socialize the dogs?

Of course when they did the teaser for the story it was "Boy was attacked by a pitbull". THEN when the barely 30 second story aired they mentioned a sharpei was involved too.

Why do they only report stories like this?

Re: Ugh, Eyewitness News...

I understand your frustration. It should have been "2 dogs attack young boy."

That's all I'm saying.

Plus, you NEVER hear a story about a PB doing something good.

Look at the post below about Michael Vicks dogs. That would be a GREAT story to run, but no, that will never happen.

At least it seems. Chat Icon

No, they don't publish much info about pitbulls doing good but remember, a lot of people's hearts went out when that pit was burned in Brentwood. I don't think that a lot of people paid attention to the breed of the dog. They were just so mad that it happened to any dog. No one bought the guy's excuse that the dog was mean to another dog of his. The problem there was that that the laws were so lax.

That Brentwood story broke my heart and I'm glad it got the publicity it did, but I'd just love to see something positive on the news about the breed.

I know. It is almost like it is not "newsworthy" unless they mention it was a pit...Chat Icon
