Ugh, I can't get Ava to stop doing this, please help!
She keeps covering her eyes and walking/running around the house. She keeps falling and smacking her head or stepping on toys, etc. I'm just afraid she's going to get really hurt. I keep telling her no, stop, etc. Telling her she'll get a boo boo, you name it, I've tried it. I just don't know how to get her to stop because she thinks it's the most hysterical thing ever

my dd used to do this, but she would put a blanket over her head and run into walls....nothing we told her would get her to stop..she eventually was tired of getting hurt and learned her lesson.

Hmmm magic cure? Duct tape her hands behind her back.
Of course then she'll probably just wiggle her way under a blanket and run around the house like a ghost.
Remember the scene in Parenthood where Steve Martin's youngest has his head in a bucket and is banging it repeatedly against a wall? They didn't make that up out of nowhere. hehe.

This is the EXACT example I gave my sister

OMG! This is DD's favorite thing to do now, except she pulls a hand towel off my kitchen counter and walks around with it over her head. I've been meaning to take a picture because its so funny. But not when she's walking into my door frames!

Other than frowning when she does it & ignoring her, I don't think anything is going to work.
If you tell her to stop, you're giving her attention for it. I know it's hard not to say anything but you've already told her she's going to get hurt.
I do have the vision of you & JT trying to have a conversation while ignoring Ava walking around with a blanket over her head.

We always joke that this is us... I don't think there's much you can do - I think most spirited little toddlers go through this phase. She'll learn soon enough

Grace does this and gets mad at me when I take the blanket off her head.
