UGH! I feel HORRIBLE! Mommy messed up!

This is the first year that DS "gets" Santa and the ONLY thing he asked for and keeps telling people that Santa is bringing him is this case of motorcycles from Lillian Vernon. I just went to order it and its no longer available!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never in a million years, expected it to go out of stock, I should have acted quicker.

OMG, I feel HORRIBLE for disappointing DS for the FIRST and ONLY gift hes ever asked Santa for.

Worst.mom.ever.

OMG you are so NOT the worst mom; these things happen.
I'd recommend calling them though, it may be backordered, or the website just may not be updated, you NEVER know!!! Maybe someone else will return one if they don't like it, and they can put you at the top of the list to just ship it out to you if one becomes available!
Also you might want to subtly get Eddie to name a few other things Santa can bring him; check availability and get him excited about that/them?

Maybe this story will help, a little Mom ingenuity goes a long way: A dear friend of mine was having just an awful phase in "life" when her little guy was 6; work suuucked, her mom was very sick; hubby unemployed, just generally a tough time. She got home from work, child announces with gleeee that he lost his tooth and can't wait for the tooth fairy to arrive that night. Well my buddy "overindulged" in her favorite wine that night, crashed out and FORGOT to play tooth fairy. Cut to 6am and an INCONSOLABLE 6yr old woke her up, just devastated that TF forgot him. She sat BOLT UPRIGHT in bed, reached out to hug him and said: "No honey, she called!!! She had to reschedule!!! She'll be here tonight!"
To that little 6yo this was totally reasonable and made sense, so all was well Chat Icon

If Eddie really can't get that gift for Christmas, what about a Santa "IOU", like the elves are making that toy as fast as they can, and as soon as Eddie's is ready he'll come back to deliver it?
Or.... you could even send yourself an email from "SClaus" or something saying just that and read it to Eddie???

Can't you put this together yourself. Buy motocycles from Hot wheels are something like that and get a personalized case to store them in. You can always say the Santa wanted to make his gift extra special, so he got something better than the Lilian Vernon one.
