UGH! Whooping Cough related...
So we got a notice yesterday that there is a confirmed case of Pertussis in DD's school...and that she was determined to be in "close contact" with the individual.
She went to the Dr. today for the swab, and we're waiting for the test results, but I'm very worried. DD has had a dry cough for a while, with no other symptoms until this past weekend. I took her to the Dr. on Saturday because she had a low fever and was so lethargic/not herself and her cough got a little "barky" (this was all before we knew about the Pertussis). Dr. said she seemed "okay" at that time and said it could be viral or allergies and to montior her.
So yesterday we get the notice and make a Dr. appointment for her this am. This time, Dr. listened and she's wheezing, so they had to do a nebulizer treatment and we have preventative antibiotics and nebulizer for home
I'm of course worried about DD, but I am also worried about DH and I. I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and DH is immunocomprimised. DD's Dr said our treatment will depend on what DD's test results say.....
UGH!!!! Just a vent I guess....so if you got this far, thanks for listening!

Ugh- scary! Has she been vaccinated for it though? Shouldn't that prevent it somewhat?
