Ugh- Witching Hour has begun....

No matter how angelic she is during the day- she falls apart at 7 every nightChat Icon

She's got herself SO worked up that she won't nurse. She latches, then makes a face and pulls off screaming. I'd think reflux except she doesn't do it at all during the day....

DH is handling her for now....

Ella would do that too - if took us a few weeks to figure out she was over tired, and needed to go to bed by then.

Is she overtired? Try doing the last nurse at 6 or 6:30.

I hope that helpsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Ugh- Witching Hour has begun....

It's not reflux, that's 100% witching hour/hourS. It WILL get better - I promise. DD just decided to stop one day at 2 months. Until then we'd walk her around screaming, turn the shower on, put the oven fan on, vacuum and she used my boob as a pacifier inbetween. Chat Icon Chat Icon

OMG you poor thing....Chat Icon

EVERY night when she's in the thick of it I panic mentally going through what I've eaten and check for signs of gas/colic/reflux/fever, etc, then DH reminds me: "Amy, she does this EVERY night....."

She's been sleeping since 9 (thank heavens) so it was a solid 2 hours tonight.

It can be so exhausting, both mentally & physically, I totally understand. That's why this website is great, to know that we're not alone and that it's not just our baby that does certain things...kind of like misery loves company Chat Icon or more so that their behavior isn't completely uncommon.

Hang in there!

ETA: I totally do the "is something I ate bothering her?" practically every night! Chat Icon

It amazes me how she can be SUCH a sweet, happy baby all day and WHAMMO, once evening hits, she becomes a miserable little beast!!

On a funny side note: When I was posting the OP, I could hear DH with her over the baby monitor. I guess he was changing her and he said, "Aw Maddie, let's take off these crankypants, OK?" He's so calm through it all.....Chat Icon

Aw, that's sweet of your DH, it's great that he's so good with her...mine is too. If he is sleeping during her witching hour and he hears me struggling with her, he'll get up and come out to help...no one can bounce her like he can!
