One of my favorite students ever was visiting family there...he is ok...thank God...they can't find his uncle...I feel like crying for so many reasons right now...

I cant stop thinking about this either. All those beautiful children with no homes and possibly no families now. My heart breaks. I just look at DD and think how lucky we are.

I'm crashing but my absolute favorite charity is Doctors Without Borders. An amazing organization that goes places and assists even when the UN won't.

After almost 24 hours of calling we finally heard from some of our family. Still waiting to hear from a few cousins and their kids. This whole thing is like a nightmare..I just want to wake up I really want to go and help out...I need to do something, not just donate. Our church is accepting anything at this point. Everything helps Please continue to pray.

I heard on the news they just want $ now b/c all the ports and the airport are closed
There is no way to get it there that makes it worth the cost
They said in a couple of weeks they will be able to take goods
Even the palace collasped...that's like the white house...I can't even look at the pics anymore

I was watching CNN last night and they showed a video of a child's body. I started crying. I can't even imagine what the people there are going through.

I LOVE doctors without borders. dh's aunt and her husband worked for them (it's actually how they met I believe). in fact, her husband died after contracting an illness while he was working with them in Africa (a place he loved and visited often). I also give to them annually.
