Ulcers? Endoscopy?
The doctor thinks I may have one and is sending me for a GI consult. What kind of tests should I expect? Medications, etc? Is this something I should be worried about?
Also, the doctor mentioned I will likely have to go for an endoscopy since he suspects scarring from GERD. This is something that is making me very anxious. I have never been put under before or had something so invasive. What should I expect and how bad is this procedure? The explaination I got did not really make me feel better.
TIA

Re: Ulcers? Endoscopy?
I just had my endoscopy last week. Absolutely nothing to it!!!!
Right from the procedure, DH and I went out to eat. It was as if nothing happened.

Re: Ulcers? Endoscopy?
Very easy. The best 15 minute nap you will ever have.
You will be fine within an hour although they don't want you to drive for 12 hours after. It's very light sedation.
You won't feel a thing.
Most stomach ulcers are caused by the pylori bacteria. There are some medications that can really help.
Good luck and try not to stress.

Re: Ulcers? Endoscopy?
Thanks, I do feel better about it.
It may not even be needed, we'll see what the GI specialist says. If I do, it does not seem like it will be too bad from what you are saying.
