Re: Ulnar Nerve
i believe it runs along the Ulnar bone (it the bone that's on the pinky side of the arm).
what do you need to know about it?

Re: Ulnar Nerve
Actually I think it's along the thumb side of the arm. The radius is the other arm bone. That's about all I know!

Re: Ulnar Nerve
I have been trying to sleep on my left side because I read that it improves curculation during pregnancy. However, ever since I started doing that I have been feeling numb in my left pinky and the left side of my left hand ring finger (all the time, 24 hours and worse when I first wake up). From doing some internet research it seems as though it could be due to my ulner nerve, I am just not sure. Thoughts?

Re: Ulnar Nerve
We have a couple PT patients that have damage to the nerve from resting their forearms on computer desks - it can be misdiagnosed as Carpal Tunnel...

Could a problem with this nerve be induced from pregnancy, or just sleeping wrong or is maybe something else going on.

that may also have to do with your 'funny bone' (which, essentially, the ulnar bone articulates with, and thats where the ulnar nerve would run). If you hit your 'funny bone' hard, it affects your whole pinky, and the top 1/3rd of your ring finger. it could just be the way your elbow is rested
ETS- so if you're basically putting alomst all of your pressure on that area, it would definitely give that Numb feeling

If thats the case, wouldn't it stop when I changed the position of my arm?

Honestly, this is constant. All day, never stops. I would say since at least Sunday.

i just banged the inside of my elbow really hard, and it gave me the numb feeling, but it went away pretty quickly. I can try to see if there's anything in my book about it (i dont know the nerves that well- just basically where they are, and a few tid bits about them)

I dont doubt it, makes everything just ....off. Even picking up a glass today to drink was odd. I can't get out of work this week but I have my monthly with my OB on Tuesday so I think I will bring it up then.

Re: Ulnar Nerve
Thanks Neenie!
My loving husband just re-assured me and told me that it sounds like I am having symptoms of an anurisym (no clue how to spell that).
