ultrascreen bloodwork question
I posted this on the Dec. mommies thread but I was curious to hear from all...
I just got back the bloodwork from the ultrascreen and they came back as a positive risk for downs (1:66 as opposed to 1:200 for my age group). My sono however was fine. Needless to say I'm a bit freaked out. I'm going to make an apt. for an amnio.
My questions. are ..
how long do you need to stay on bedrest? (I've read 2-3 days)
Also, I had 2 embryos inserted via IVF and only one took...I wonder... would that create a false positive?
Or could it be from taking all those shots?

Re: ultrascreen bloodwork question
I'm not sure about your other questions but regarding the amnio, I would give yourself 3 days of bedrest. I was told not to do anything for 48 hours but to take it easy for 72 hours total. I felt a little crampy the day after and two days after, so I made sure I just hung out for most of the day on Day 3. Good luck!! It is scary but the results will put your mind at ease!!
