Ultrascreen question
The date that I am scheduled for is the first possible date that an ultrascreen should be done (11 weeks 1 day). We are not entirely certain about my due date anyway. Is there a chance that I am having this done too early for it to be an effective test?

Re: Ultrascreen question
I'm not 100% sure but would like to think the dr. can tell upon performing the sonogram. I'm having my U/S tomorrow and also have a question about accuracy/effectiveness. My due date was calculated off of a 28 day cycle when in reality, my cycles average 32 days. I discovered this when playing around on one of those baby websites where you can calculate your due date - never realizing before that length of cycle mattered. Anyway, I hear this test is so precise they take the exact day of gestational age into consideration. Is it worth it to mention to the administering doctor that I believe my due date is off or do they always go by the textbook 28 days?

Re: Ultrascreen question
I think 11 w 1 d is the earliest and 13 w 6 days is the latest they perform the ultrascreen.

Well, from what you are saying, I now think that they will tell us on the spot if it is too early, based on their sonogram. I guess there is a small chance of a wasted appointment, though.

Re: Ultrascreen question
i measured exactly 11 weeks 1 day last Wednesday at my ultrascreen. The hospital asked for my due date and they made the appt. so i guess it was fine. if you're concerned you can try to go a few days or 1 week later. my doc calculated my due date by LMP too and i'm not always exactly 28 days either...

Re: Ultrascreen question
My dr. wanted me to schedule it at or after 12 weeks to be sure to fall in the right time frame - because he said if the baby is not measuring 11 weeks 1 day they will not do the test. So, I guess when they do the sonogramm if you are not measuring at that point, they might tell you to come back? Not sure though. Hope this helps
