Re: Um... Denny's Childrenswear... am I missing something?

I keep getting emails from them about making an appointment for camp clothing. Seems weird and antiquated to me to shop that way. Same for the layette.

My big pet peeve with Denny's is that you don't know the price of an item until you go to the register.

Seriously? They must end up re-shelving alot of things left at the register...unless everyone who shops there just doesn't care about price

Yeah? they dont have the price on them? The one in oceanside does. And you know its all minus 20percent unless a sign says otherwise (sometimes 30percent).
AND BELIEVE ME....I LOOK at prices before I buy!

I went in today bc I am always in the shopping center its in. didnt buy anything but one thing with dennys is you have to watch what you buy.

They carry a lot of names that the prices are true (i.e cach cach, divas and dolls, haute baby) and no mater where you buy those clothes they would be expensive. When dd was a baby she had a lot of them but now not as much only more special occasions). But then there are other names I never heard of that I think are OUTRAGEOUS! Like their Tshirts and Tanks with the rhinestone son them are 25-32 bucks...and its an american eagle tshirt!
And occasionally they sell isobella and chloe and I find their prices are HIGHER than say when you find isabella and chloe at Macy's.

But like I said the name brands that you find in children's boutiques are pretty much the same price in Denny's but maybe even better bc they discount and not everystore does.

To the poster that shops in Lesters...i go there too.... I happen to like denny's better though.

Is Denny's owned by the same people who own Max and Gino's because I feel it's the same type of clothing but one for kids and one for adults?

I'm not a fan at all! Most of their little girl stuff is too adult or overdone with peace signs and ruffles. I'm just not into that.

not a fan of Dennys. Totally expensive and over priced..I stick to sale rack at CP, Old Navy and Gap - I always seem to find clothes for less than 4 bucks. I just bought my daughter sandals for .99!

I don't see what the hype is about. It looks like a thrift store. It's certainly not my style.

I think the clothing costs more than I want to spend on every day outfits for my kids. Some of it is cute, but I feel that I can get a better value for my dollar at the gap, gymboree, children's place, crazy 8, old navy, macy's and lord and taylor. But in life I have realized to each his/her own. I am not spending your money and you don't have to spend mine. If you like it for your kid, and can afford it, good for you.

Is Gap much cheaper than Dennys? What do most items in Dennys even cost (I didnt even look at one since I hated what they had). OP....Gap is definitely not on the cheaper end in the scheme of what kids clothes cost in all the stores, IMO. I bought 7 summer things for my nephew there (2 tshirts, 1 collared shirt, one button down shirt, 2 shorts and one bathing suit) and spent 140 whereas you could get loads for 140 at Target or Carters or even OshKosh or Old Navy of course. A pair of shorts for boys at the Gap was 24.99, as were the full price bathing suits for boys.

How does everyone get these offers? For the FIRST time ever...this weekend, I got 30% off for the sale. Other than that, I have paid full price for DDs clothes for the last 2 years (and a LOT of clothes too). BTW, I don't have a gap CC and I dont want one. Where is everyone getting these coupons? Do tell!!!

I thought the layette idea was sillly until I actually did a layette from Denny's. It was great one stop shopping for everything from crib sheets to clothing. The person we worked with was very good. The only thing I would not buy again was the $22 hairbrush. That was a crock. For everything else, Denny's made it very easy. I felt that a lot of things suited my style and I used everything. I loved having blankets to match outfits. It was certainly not a necessity by any means, though.

As for camp, I feel like I know about what kids need for camp so I am not sure if it is necessary. The only reason I say it might be is because I started out feeling that way about the baby layette but I was so glad I did it.

I have not had issues with the staff at Denny's but that would bother me.

As far as the gap goes, sign up for the emails. Or get the gap card. Every first Tuesday you get 10 or15% off your entire order.

For the most part it's not coupons (although some do exist) but just store sales. They usually do certain departments 30 or 40% off. I never ever buy full price bc I feel like it always gets deeply discounted just a few weeks later. This winter I got ds2 a ton of bodysuits for $3-4. Other times they have deals- like last year Jeans were 25% off plus buy 3 get one free.

Oh then. I see. That's where I am impatient. I am afraid they wont have my DD size and I want the clothing so badly that I just say, whatever, its her size and I have to get it NOW. Iwas annoyed this past weekend that I waited for the sale and they didnt have some things in her size (not that I had a problem finding tons of other things thoughChat Icon ).

By my screen name you can tell I have a shopping problem. I shop anywhere and everywhere. I can NOT get into this store!!!! I don't understand why it looks so sloppy and disorganized at the prices they charge. I am also not impressed with the clothes. I see similar stuff at Century 21, Etsy, Zulily etc for much cheaper.

I look for any excuse to spend money and I always leave that place empty handed!! I've given up on them.
