and what should I expect? Is she going to get more constipated? more gassy (which has finally worked itself out)? I'm going with Similac sensitive

I think I would start with a bottle durning the day. Maybe have it be her second feeding of the day to make sure the formula doesn't give her any problems. Then slowly increase it. I would go maybe 3 days at a time between the increases.

I introduced formula by mixing it with BM in a bottle about 1/2 & 1/2. I gave it during the day.
I only noticed constipation when DS went fully on formula. He was only supplemented from 8 weeks to 6 1/2 months with 12 ounces a day. Once he was off BM completely, he did get VERY constipated for a few weeks. But prunes & pears & water seem to helped that out!

Re: Um, how do I wean from BM to formula? or intro formula at night
DS has always had formula here and there since he was a newborn. when i decided i wanted to wean i started giving him formula at night instead of BFing him, then each week i replaced one BM bottle with one formula bottle. the last thing i got rid of was the AM feeding. he has been on enfamil gentlease since he was a couple of weeks old, so far no constipation issues (and he hasn't had any BM since monday).
it actually worked out really well for me too, no engorgement so far, just a little soreness and HUGE boobs
