Un-freaking-believeable (C-section related)

Ok maybe I'm being overdramatic but

I've had visiting nurses come to my house since I've had DD in July because of wound care (part of the incision didn't close properly)

They said today its bigger, it should be done by now that I need to make an appt w/a plastic surgeon! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

W*T*F!

Anyone else deal w/this or heard of anyone else dealing w/this?

Like I have time for this now Chat Icon

She said its beyond what they could do at the ob-gyn or my primary...which I believe because the ob-gyn should have referred me to wound care or have done something earlier

I'm gonna make an appt w/the plastic surgeon to see what he thinks...it could be really minor so I'm not going to worry until I have to

its just so freaking annoying!!!!! Like I have nothing else to do... This is not the stuff you think about what you're pregnant, KWIM?

Sorry this is happening to youChat Icon I would definately consult a plastic surgeon. I too, had a section in July and my incision is already invisible in many spots so I think it is definately at a point where you should be completely healed.

ugh - it figures.

one question i'd ask the doc & the nurse lady - will this in any way prohibit a vbac - if you had thought about one...

Unfortunately a lot of people have that happen if they don't follow their OB's instructions closely (NOT saying you didn't just saying opening is in fact common). Some people just have problems in general with them opening. Either way since it has been several months I would definitely NOT want an OB touching it at this point. I would definitely go to a plastic surgeon will who hopefully be able to fix it with the least scarring as possible. If you have your OB fix it - it could lead to worse scarring. You have nothing to lose to at least consult a PS and see what they can offer you or they can recommend. If nothing more it is just a second opinion.

Yep, made the appt w/the plastic surgeon

it opened quite early, and I'm more annoyed w/ob-gyn's office for not taking action earlier (treating it or referring me to visiting nurses earlier)

I'm hoping the plastic surgeon says it'll be a quick fix Chat Icon

Re: Un-freaking-believeable (C-section related)

I did have the problem of my incision not closing properly. And finally when the big hole closed another part of the incision popped open. This went on for a good 6-8 weeks.

The it finally was all closed. Except on one part inside skin tissue closed on the outside. And that they cortorized in the office (OB office).

I would go back to your OB and see what they say. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
