Unexplained infertility
If you have Unexplained infertility can you give me your story? Where are you in the process? How far will you go? What is your doctor doing for you? Any graduates from the board that had UI I would love to hear your story as well.
So far I have be doing Clomid and IUI's.. and nothing is working (we have been doing this for four months). My doctor in a pretty popular doc on these boards and she doesn't seem as aggressive as I would have hoped. I just feel like I am at a dead end in this journey.. I think I will give the meds and IUI's another couple of months before moving to IVF but my insurance company needs a reason for IVF and I hope Unexplained will be enough.
Thanks girls.. wishing everyone the best!

Re: Unexplained infertility
I agree with Lisa...if you aren't happy move on...just cuz someone is liked by someone else doesn't mean they are the right Dr. for you. I hated RSNY and other people like them....I am very happy where I am now and other people question them.
It's all about what works for you....and whether or not your Dr. listens to your concerns and addresses them. So far, mine has.

Re: Unexplained infertility
Hi there, I have the same problem unexplained infertility all my results and my husbands are fine. They only thing they keep saying is my age is a factor 38 at the moment turning 39 next month. I had 5 rounds of iui with clomid. I just had my 6 iui but this time the docter put me on the injections. Suppose to increase your eggs. I am waiting on an answer today for my results could be a positive one. So what I'm saying is your docter should progress based on how you do on the procedures. THey should know when to start IVF. My docter already told me if this does not work does not want to waste anymore time . We would move to IVF.. So hang in there and if you feel that your docters is not making the right choices, let me know and I can recommend another Fertility place for you. Best of luck to you.

Re: Unexplained infertility
Have you done a CD21 test to check your progesterone levels?
I am assuming if you are having IUI's they are monitoring you with sono's to make sure follicles are growing. Other than that, I would maybe move on to IVF if your insurance covers it - IVF has a much higher success rate.

Re: Unexplained infertility
I have been trying for 11 months now. We've done Clomid alone with no results, had day 25 bloodwork to be sure I actually ovulated on the Clomid; had an HSG; DH had a SA. Everything came back normal. I had a sono on Monday and it showed 2 eggs all ready to go. I got the +OPK on Weds and had my first IUI on Thurs. I am now in the 2WW. I am getting really discouraged reading how many people on here have had the IUI multiple times with no success.

Re: Unexplained infertility
I had unexplained infertility and DH's SA was EXCELLENT!!! We did 6 rounds of IUI's 3 with Letrozole, and 3 with injections, and then finally moved on to IVF, I had a m/c the first try and did a FET and now have 13 month old twin boys If you are NOT happy, I would find someone else, or talk to your RE about being more aggressive.

Re: Unexplained infertility
I am 30 yr. old & was diagnosed w/ unexplained infertility. I had EVERY test including all immune issues, laparascopy, hysteroscopy, hsg, all bloodwork on all cycle days normal, husband not only had semen analysis but even sperm dna fragmentation. I had 3 IUI's & 3IVFs. The IVF's had perfect quality embryos & everyone had really high expectations. All BFN. I just paid for (no insurance) & started my fourth & final IVF. I was waiting to get my period to start stims & as it turns out I'm pregnant! I conceived naturally this month ( btw we only did it once) So you never know. Keep the faith & still try in between cycles.

Re: Unexplained infertility
I'm in the same boat........unexplained infertility and it's frustrating and upsetting. I started going to the RE in Sept. They've done a bunch of tests and bloodwork and have said I have a very mild case of PCOS. Some symptoms, not all, and again......mild symptoms. I've been taking Provera to get my period and I've been on Metformin for a month. I started at 500mg, jumped to 1000mg, and now I am at 1500mg. The doctor has said Clomid and possible IUI's as well but I want to hold off on the Clomid and give the Metformin a chance to do its thing since there is a lifetime limit of 12 cycles of Clomid. I've done 3 already years ago, I don't want to waste what's left. In the meantime I'm doing what I can to "get ready". I'm trying to lose some weight, I'm on the Pre-Natals, and I'm doing okay on the Metformin too. Luckily, my husband checked out okay so at least that is one thing we don't have to worry about. Anyway, it's just frustrating and annoying and although the doctor is positive I am not and won't be until it happens. So we'll see. I'll keep ya posted.
