Re: Unique Airbnb's in Tri-State Area
I recently stayed at a "crazy" AirBnB in Naponach, NY - we were going hiking at the Ice Caves and Sam's Point Preserve (which was beautiful!). A friend booked it and from the pics, it looks very cute and quaint. And I guess in some ways it is, but there is so much totally RANDOM crap ALL OVER THE HOUSE, it was hysterical.
We got there late and night and it was so dark out and we couldn't figure out where to park etc. When we finally got into the house, we were like "oh, hell no! We are NOT staying here!" There were 4 of us and we were really freaked out by all the weird crap ALL OVER the house. Plus, from the ground floor, in some parts of the house, there were no ceilings - just the floor boards of the second floor - which was kind of freaky when you were on the second floor. Wallpaper that was probably 80 years old and peeling off all over the place. Taxidermied animals (and not "normal" looking ones lol). We actually wound up having so many laughs because of all the crazy stuff all over the house and had a great time, but it was definitely "different" lol. Not sure if that's what you had in mind, but it was "unique"!

All I can think is "wow that house would be cold in winter!" There's no insulation!

AirBnB house
Yikes, that's nuts!!!
I found an awesome one in CT that looks like a castle, and is so charming and adorable! And another upstate that is so cool, minus the glass house you sleep in in the woods

Not tri-state but not too far. My colleague was just telling me that she stays at this house twice a year. They love it:

My other co-worker stays here once a year too. They love it:
