you can actually see the top 100 names by state on the SSA site. i'm telling ya, it's the best site 
It's the best because it's the only "official" one. They hand out Social Security numbers, so they know EVERYBODY's name.
I never noticed the "top 100 by State" link before. I've been using this site for about 7 years now (used it when figuring out DS's name, and he'll be 6 in a month), and I never noticed that...

The other site posted, http://our365.com/wisdom/babynamescape/ breaks it down by state, town or hospital.

Depends on what you mean by unique. Wouldn't consider Emily or Lily unique - pretty names, but extremely popular right now.
A few I love that I would consider unique but not 'out there' - meaning you've heard them before, but not every day.
