Universal Studios Orlando?

We have never been there and am completely clueless about it. Has anyone been recently? Any must see's or do's? Nicholas likes rides and a lot of their characters. I only plan to spend one day there, so should we go to the regular park or the California Adventure one?

I Love Universal, you can get one pass for Island of Adventure, Universal and sea World. You must also see the Blue man Group-My cuz is in it. Weve seens in 5 times and LOVE it.

City walk is fun at night-restaurants, magicians, etc-I love it there...we stayed at Crown Plaza when we went-Love that place!

Re: Universal Studios Orlando?

Oh I was just there...you found the queen of tips for orlando...

When you get to orlando you can get a 3 month pass at costco for 89 bucks ( I know u wont be there 3 months and either were we but 1day is 89 bucks so it is soooo worth it. Maybe you can call costco and have them ship it to u prior to the trip.

OK, so when you are in there they have a new thing "meal deal" pass. It took me a few days to figure out that they NEVER change the wristband color and you can go up a million times and order whatever you want. Nicholas' would be 9.99 but you dont even need one bc you can go up a second time right after your first. It includes a meal and a dessert. If you do this you will see exactly what I mean. If I am not clear ask me to re-explain.

Universal is awesome and so is islands...honestly...I'd do both. I think he would love both.

Universal 1 has simpsons, scooby, spongebob,

islands of advent has all the superheroes, Hulk/spiderman/superman,
popeye, and dr seuss.

Does he do rollercoasters? If so this is a great park bc there are a few. Though the hulk is NUTZZZZ...they put you in a capsule and do a countdown. At any random # they shoot you out of the capsule from like 1-100. Its crazy!

My cousins work in mngmnt for both universal and disney so ask me anything you need to know.

BTW...I need to know where u got those mickeymouse clubhouse drawing blanet/sheets in emmas favors ...we need to get more. Its awesome!

Re: Universal Studios Orlando?

He LOVES roller coasters (that he is tall enough for), he made me ride that big huge towering thing at Dorney Park not once, but TWICE last Summer Chat Icon I saw the Costco pass thing, but I really only want to do one day since it's supposed to be a "relaxing" trip. Not to mention I only booked because our hotel stay is free, so I don't want my free trip to end up costing a fortune Chat Icon I'm hoping to find a deal on ebay or the like for a one day pass. Not holding my breath though! The meal deal..where do you buy that at? Onsite?

Have you been to that upside place? Wonderworks I think it's called? It looks neat online, but then again so does everything!

Thanks!

Re: Universal Studios Orlando?

Holy cow there are so many ticket options on their site. What is the difference between all the express passes? Some are a lot more expensive than others...

Re: Universal Studios Orlando?

skip wonderworks...not a big deal. do disney quest instead.
The food bracelets you can buy on line at the park. Dont buy any for you. just nicholas..you will see what I mean.
Honestly if you are doing something for that second day i would spend 2 half days 1 in islands and 1 in univ bc you are paying 89 regardless.
When you do wonderworks or disneyquest you are rebuilding that bill anyhow...KWIM...
If you dont do that ...have you been to disney village? its just awesome! you walk around and dont pay for parking. In there is T-rex restaurant (he'd probably love)...google it. Rainforest, Ghiradellis, and all kinds of disney stores and sight seeing things. Oh we also rent boats from the docks. they have 2 men boats. You can google disney village I am sure they will tell you more.

You dont want to get express passes. Right now is not orlandos busy season. If you were going in june I would tell you to. PLUS...with the economy these parks are suffering. No reason to get an express pass. there wont be lines. we just went the end of jan.

ALSO if you feel the need to ...you can do it while u are there.

Re: Universal Studios Orlando?

We've been to downtown Disney...cute, but that is my weakness and I end up spending $$$$ in those stores!!!

We have all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and our flight is very late on Monday. So tech. we could do 2 days of parks, with some R&R in between. The hotel has an amazing pool and a lot of activities too. Have you done the pirate dinner show? He loves pirates, but the reviews don't look very good

Yes and its 3 months...not that you are going back but its 3 months.

They sell them in costco like they sell movie tixx in our costcos but I am willing to bet if you call costco they can mail it to you or get it sent to this costco.

The hotel has this great pool, etc. which I know Nicholas will just love and be content with since it's pirate ship themed!
