UPDATE - What do you do when... (makeup related)
What do you do when your foundation gathers and slides all over due to an oily complexion (t-zone primarily) despite using a primer and powder? There has to be a way to resolve this issue. My skin is so different at different times of the month. When I went for my color iq my skin was on the dry side although i did mention I have generally combination skin.
thanks
UPDATE - huge THANK YOU NervousNell for the Murad Oil Control Mattifier - I used it today for the first time and it made a significant difference!!!! THANK YOU!

You may need a different primer or a different foundation. It took me a few tries to get the formula of each right for my skin tone and type. Also are both your primer and foundation silicone based? Your primer needs to match the foundation, so water to water and silicone to silicone.

I swear by Murad's Oil Control Mattifier It is expensive but you don't' need much- just on your T zone if that is your problem area. It works amazing.

I don't have them on me but I have the hourglass primer and makeup forever hd foundation. I feel like there was a tarte foundation that the color iq woman thought would be a better match for my skin type but they didn't have it in the store. maybe I will try that.

Re: What do you do when... (makeup related)
I would try the Hourglass Immaculate foundation along with their primer if the mattifier doesn't work.
I use the Immaculate on middle of the road skin & it still works, so you can use it when you aren't as oily. It's just not good for very dry skin.
Also--try a setting spray, like Urban Decay All Nighter.
Another tip is to blot your face before you put anything on it--either with oil blotting sheets, or a tissue. then after your foundation, let it sit a minute, then blot with one ply of a 2 ply tissue. this should remove oils in the makeup, without removing color.

I use Hourglass Immaculate and love it but I still get oily. I am going to try the Murad underneath. I just read the reviews and they were all pretty good. I am getting excited. Being oily really blows

Me too! YES! I started using it a few days ago and after wasting tons of money on oil control products I finally have something that works! I still get a tad oily but my makeup lasts through the day and that is amazing!! Thank you!!!

It is pricey, but a little goes a long way and a tube will last me for months. And the fact that it works actually saves me money in the long run I find. No more wasting money on stuff that ends up not working, kwim?
