UPDATE (1st post)Oh no... I'm spotting now.
I know spotting in early pregnancy can be normal for a lot of women... but this is the first sign I had that something was wrong with my last pregnancy which was ectopic.
I really thought this pregnancy would be different. My hormone levels were so high and so normal. I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow morning at 7:45am, but where I was hopeful and excited prior to tonight, I'm now distraught and beside myself.
 
UPDATE- They saw a gestational sac and yolk IN MY UTERUS!!!! This is great news as now I know I'm not having another ectopic!!!!!
They did not see a fetal pole or heartbeat at this time, but the dr said since I'm only 5 weeks this is normal and to come back in two weeks for a 7 week ultrasound. She said we should be able to see a heartbeat at that time.
I need to be happy and stop stressing now, but it is soooo hard. The spotting still makes me nervous so I guess I won't feel totally out of the clear until I see a heartbeat, but today was definitely good news.

Oh, Terry...I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Try to stay positive...it doesn't always mean something bad. But I know what you mean- once you experience spotting that turns into MC, you can't help but feel like it's happening again.
I don't know if it helps, but I have a friend who had spotting that turned into MC- then had spotting her next pregnancy. It was nothing, and she has a beautiful son now. I hope this is what happens for you!

Not really cramping. I've had on and off really light cramps that sort of feel like menstral cramps, ever since I got the BFP, but no sharp pains or any really painful cramping like I had last time.

Thank you! It is really hard for me to stay positive right now but I do hope things turn out well for me this 2nd time around like they did for your friend.

Im praying this is ok. If youre still spotting tomorrow, call dr. If youre not in pain, i think youre ok.
Also, is the spotting red or brown? That makes a difference!

It's brown and light... I think it would be normal for most women to experience this... but this is how the signs of my ectopic started last time. It graduated to bright red and heavier a week later. The only difference I see this time (besides the hormone levels) is that last time I lost my pregnancy symptoms when Iwas spotting, and this time I still feel the queasy/tired way I've felt all along so maybe that is a good sign. I just don't know.
Well, I have my ultrasound in an hour so I will keep you all posted.
