Update: Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test

I have sticks at home and almost tested this morning....but couldn't do it.

I am doing PIO every night, doing 3 estrogen patches (switching every other day) and taking Estrace vaginally twice a day......I feel like if I get a BFN, I will really feel like all of this preparation is such a waste.

It sounds weird, but I would just be so discouraged that I would want to stop....and I know that 7dp5dt (frozen transfer) may not be entirely accurate on a HPT.

Trying to hold out until my beta but will probably cave sometime this weekend....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test

Good Luck!

I have done it both ways - tested and not tested. When I got a BFN, I was glad I didn't test. When I got a BFP, I was glad I tested. Damned if you do, damned if you don't..

Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test

I tested positive with both my FETs at 7dp5dt. You know when you will be ready to test. I know how nerve wracking it can feel. Good luck!!!

Re: Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test

I tested positive 7dp5dt but if you don't feel comfortable then don't do it. I was too anxious to wait for me beta but that's just me.

Wishing you lots of luck!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I couldn't bring myself to test either. Every day that got closer I kept on pushing it off. I didn't test with either IVF. If you don't wanna then don't. Good luck!

Re: Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test-Update

I am so sad to tell you it was a BFN. I didn't test until last night. I am glad I waited; I would have been driving myself crazy this whole week with negatives all week. I cried it out last night.

I was switched from Endometrin to PIO 3 days after my FET and my progesterone went from 7 to 19.5. My estrogen was over 1,000....all great numbers. The nurse explained that estrogen and progesterone support a PG, but don't cause it....which basically means the implantation just didn't happen.

I had a trilaminate lining that was >8. I have a follow up on Wed. with my dr and I am so worried that he is just going to tell me "sometimes it just doesn't work", which is what I was told after FET #1 and #2 failed.

I called LIIVF today and left a message....a friend recommended Dr. Keningsberg and I think I am going to request a consult with him. He is supposedly hard to get an appt with, but I will try.

I am just so exhausted - PIO, estrogen patches, Estrace.....and still nothing. My DH is taking this so badly too....

I'm so sorry! I know--it is totally and utterly exhausting. You had genetically screened all of your embryos first right? It feels like it should be a guarantee and then it's not. I am having this test done as per CCRM. I thought it might interest you as you're probably in the no-stone-left-unturned place. They're doing some other interesting things to help implantation too (e.g. scratch biopsies, HCG @ transfer, Viagra to open up the blood vessels, etc.) Wishing you comfort and strength as you forge ahead Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you. I had the scratch biopsy before FET #2. Didn't help. Where is CCRM?

Update: Beta is Monday and I am afraid to test

I am so sorry!!!

CCRM is the Colorado fertility center and they are the very best in the country. Thousands of women go there if they have failed cycles. They get women pregnant that many thougt could never be able to. http://www.colocrm.com/

Like Mam2b said, it's the big daddy of fertility. I'm here now, actually; my ER is today. I am doing the same process you did: banking embryos in the freezer for CCS testing (that's what they call PGS) and planning an FET later.

I'm not even necessarily suggesting going to CCRM per se as I know (from experience) what a huge undertaking it is to travel and pay the crazy price tag here. I'm choosing to do it because I have been through so much unexplained IVF failure and I wanted to go to "the best of the best" for answers before my ins. coverage ran out. It's definitely not for everyone.

But they're using some interesting, research-backed treatments here that other clinics aren't, and it might be worth it to bring those treatments up in conversation with your own RE. Or to invest in their patented One-Day-Work-Up and consult with them prior to another transfer. They will raise an eyebrow at your repeat failure with normal embryos and try to find an answer because they believe so wholeheartedly in the approach you used; something like 80% of their cycles are CCS/PGS frozen transfers.

Wow, this is some powerful info. Can you tell me about the One-Day-Work Up?
