Update How do I know if my water broke?
I was just in the bathroom and I had two HUGE gushes of water come out of me and soak my underwear. Now, nothing. Should I call the doctor?

was it pee? or could you tell it was something other?
I mean you're pretty close, so at this point a call to the Dr. wouldn't do any harm. You might just end up at the hospital and then they'll send you home. But they can test it to see if it was amniotic fluid.

No, totally wasnt pee LOL that is the first thing DH asked too. Ok im going to call now  Im so not ready

Gushes sound like water breaking to me. you can also tell by the smell of it. Let us know what the doctor says.

oh no--gushes is your water breaking!
best analogy..Its like a water balloon popping--unless its a leak or tear--then its harder to tell.

Ugh, so the doctor told me to put on a pad and just do what I was doing and if the pad is wet, to call him back at 11pm  so far, the pad is still dry

If it was truely your water breaking, you'll know soon enough because ...it'll bring on contractions.
Happened to me both times.
First time I woke -up in the middle of the night to pee,but had the gush before I could get to the bathroom..I cried myself to sleep because I was so sick of being preggo and thought I was losing it since I was now pee-ing on myself..had  the following night.
Had a huge gush with almost 2 weeks early and no contractions for about 2 hours.. she was born 3 hours after the 1st contraction.

I don't know if that's always the case. When my water broke with my DS it was a slow leak and I didn't start having contractions so they eventually had to give me pitocin. My sister is actually in labor right now. Her water broke this morning (huge gush) and she also had to get pitocin because she wasn't contracting. I would want to get checked out because if your water did break they want you to have the baby within 24 hours due to the risk of infection once the amniotic sac breaks. They can test to see if it was amniotic fluid or not.

When my water broke, at first it was a little trickle but then it started to gush...shortly after that my contractions started. GL

I had the same issue w/contractions, however, you do feel the strong ones coming in at the beginning and then they subside a bit and then kick in a bit more...
