UPDATE: I started to make my own baby food!
OMG, it's not hard at all!
I have a food processor that I have not used in so long. So I started with sweet potatoes.
I baked a bunch and then scooped and pured. I saved some to eat yesturday and today and I froze the rest in ice cube trays and then will bag in zip locks.
They really do taste better than the jarred sw. pot.
I feel so much better giving DD this! And it's so much cheaper than jarred and I can give organic too!!!
Next I will make bananas and carrots!
I plan to buy a steamer next so I can keep as much vitamins in them as possible when cooking.
Thanks for the tips ladies!!!!

I can't wait to start doing this. I wish I would have done it with Andrew.

yes I looked at that website. Thank you!
I am pretty excited about this now that I saw how easy it is to make a ton. And I can give her things like alvocados (that don't come in jars) and such too.

Do you think it's too late for me to start this? I don't have a food processor (but I do have one of those little Cuisinart mini food preps). Is it worth it to get a food processor? How much longer will a 7 month old take pureed food? He would be eating table foods in no time, right?

I gave Rylan avacados the other day and he hated them. He seems to have a thing with green food...lol.
I love making his food...it's so easy. So far i've made -butternut squash -acorn squash -sweet potatoes -carrots -green beans -apples -pears

Kailey is almost 7 months and I just plan to make it thicker as she tollerates it.
I don't think they start finger foods until 9 months. I could be wrong though.
I plan to make some squash next too.
