Just got over $10K bill for out-of-network lab testing!!!!!
This happened to me too. The lab reduced the bill to $200 but I was still annoyed about paying it so I put in a claim with the insurance company and it got paid. Why do they do things like this to pregnant women? So stressful!

Try to Appeal to your insurance company. The Lab will most likely settle for less than that. Its ridiculous how much they charge for blood tests.

Update: Ok so contacted the lab and Blackjack is right! They bill these ridiculous amounts to get the insurance companies to pay up and then write off the rest. The patient is responsible for $100 copay. I really wish this was told to me before I saw the initial bill and had a heart attack though!!! That can't be good for baby! So FYI for anyone who gets this kind of lab testing just call them directly before you pass out lol.
