Update on my daycare teacher...

So, the past few days I noticed she wasn't talking to me, looking at me... curtly answering basic questions on Cailen (did he nap? "Yes." "Did he like the sippy cup?" "No.")

So I went back to the supervisor and asked her how things went after I spoke to her. She said she and another supervisor confronted her, and she denied that she had the phone at all! They told her that several parents have seen her with the phone and its not the 1st time...


So, they wrote her up, told her what would happen if she did it again (suspension, and then fired...) and then they heard when she returned back to the classroom she was crying!!!! I mean, come on - it's not like she was found with heroin...

So anyway, the supervisor figured she is still upset and maybe things will be blown over in a few days, but to let her know if it continues, because thats not appropriate either. Honestly, if it continues I would rather talk to her myself then send the supervisor back - especially if she is THAT sensitive!!!

If this is someone who i studying to be a teacher (like you said), she is going to need to develop a thicker skin. You had a legitimate gripe and concern about this person. Her actions (or distractions being her phone and text messaging) could have had a direct impact on the welfare of your son. She will be dealing with many more confrontations in her life as an educator, I can promise that.

Second of all, crying? Come on, now. She was the one doing something wrong. Don't you just love that?

If, in the past, several parents saw her with the phone and it's not the first time then why wasn't she written up before ?

I'd figure that if she was seen X number of times doing it then she really is on that phone X plus God-only-knows how many times.

I would have also asked, why does she need her phone "on and out of her bag"? If she has a personal situation where she might need to be contacted in an emergency then whoever needs to speak to her should call the daycare center office. I hope her supervisor told her that.

In thirteen years of teaching, the only time my phone was ever turned on and on my desk (during a lesson) was when my father was having outpatient surgery and I couldn't be there. One day in 13 years!

Oh, and if this girl is crying over this situation she will NEVER, EVER make it as a special ed teacher. She wouldn't last 5 minutes in a classroom.

good for u...her shortness will likely soon go away - when i had to b!tch out my daycare about the bottle mix up and hysterical crying ds, the one at fault wouldn't acknowledge myself or my son either for a few days - now she's back to normal. it'll blow over - don't feel bad - u did what needed to be done. at least she'll know now that u take her job seriously - even if she doesn't!!!

I'm glad they spoke to her about it. How silly for her to be upset when SHE was in the wrong and then LIED about it to boot!

she got upset and started crying because she was caught doing something she shouldnt be doing at work and isnt being paid to be there doing??? shes not going to make it in her field if she is that sensitive...hopefully she smartens up and realizes shes there to nuture children and help them with their day

my sisters bf works for a very well known daycare in Dixhills area i think.
well this beyotch comes to work and shoots up in the bathroom and falls asleep during story hour!
so I totally believe text messaging...
finally...after months and months she was fired.,...gross pig
