 I would be sooo ******, that is totally something my IL's would do and I would FLIP!!!!! Thank goodness MIL doesnt drive anf FIL has little interest in taking Ryan anywhere.

Wow. I would be LIVID. If I were you, I'd speak sternly to DH and your IL's. You know, a lot of people have this false sense of security driving around locally in the neighborhood. I once got into a TERRIBLE accident, and to keep our insurance down, my father made me take one of those safe driving classes, and in it, the guy gave us the statistics, and it turns out that MOST accidents DO occur close to home. All it takes is one freakin' millisecond and that's it... maybe you can explain it to them that way?
