UPDATE: unhappiness via text message

i have a feeling that most, if not all, of you are watching the last episode of the sopranos right now. i sure hope it lives up to the expectation.

but i digress.

i, first of all, want to thank each and every woman who sent me a lovely, heart-felt fm in these past few days.

i don't know if i'll be able to answer each and every one. but i will do my best.

i'll do my best to give the "highlights" and important points.

when i came home after the text messages, there was a very long very ugly fight. i was called every name in the book. everytime i tried to answer one of his questions, he'd cut me off and answer it for himself. it got to the point that i just stopped talking.

after about an hour of silence, HE STARTED TO ACT AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED!!!!! i was so shocked. but i stood strong to my decision to not speak (might not be the smartest move, but i felt i had to prove a point).

i stayed in the family room all night. i slept on the couch.

the next morning, i got up, walked the dog, and came back to shower. as i was going about my normal routine, he was in bed. i turned on the light as if he wasn't there. when he woke up, i quietly started to speak my mind. he was caught off-guard, so he had to listen. i said my piece with tears in my eyes.

by the time i was on my way to work, he came over and hugged and kissed me and apologized.

it was a very small "victory". today, was not a good day. it wasn't as bad as thursday, but it's not the "honeymoon" i was expecting after, what i thought was a minestone.

so, in the end, i'm left with questions. is it worth fighting for? is it worth saving? are we just too different? can we ever understand one another?

to be honest, i don't have answers.

i'm hoping to talk to him before we go to bed, tonight. if this marriage ends, it WON'T be because i gave up on it.

Wow. My heart goes out to you right now, it really does. I don't know what to say other than this. If you feel it's worth fighting for, then fight. Dont' give up. Marriage is hard and in all honesty, it's very hard in the beginning, no matter if you've lived together or not. It requires a lot of work and energy. If you feel it's worth giving, then keep giving. But you're right when you say that if it ends, it's not for your lack of fighting. Have you asked him whether he is up for counseling? Is he ready to work? If he expects you to change (which, he took you for better or for worse, nothing major is to be expected), then is he willing to compromise and make changes for you?
