Re: *Updated Dr. response at bottom* No sonogram at 8 weeks?
new doctor IMO.....it isn't amount the number of sonos but rather your comfort level. You don't seem to be that comfortable with this practice.

Re: *Updated Dr. response at bottom* No sonogram at 8 weeks?
Thanks for all of your help. You are right, I am not comfortable with this practice.
This must be a FL thing, but I called 2 more practices and neither of them did a sono until 20 weeks either! I finally found one that does a sono at 8 weeks so I made an appointment with them. They said that they were seeing that some women weren't having viable pregnancies and weren't finding out until 20 weeks. DUH!
Thanks again for everyone's help!

Look for a new doctor. That just doesn't sound right.

Good that you change you changed your dr that just seems so irresponsible that they wouldnt do a ultra sound until 20 weeks. Good Luck & Good Move

Re: *Updated AGAIN at bottom* No sonogram at 8 weeks?
it isnt uncommon in the military to not do a BIG sono until the 20 week mark. I agree to its late, and they did do a trans-vag for viability for me at 8 weeks....and again at 14 weeks for hearing the heartbeat. A private practice doc not doing it sounds a little strange... good thing you checked into it

Re: *Updated AGAIN at bottom* No sonogram at 8 weeks?
My practice normally only does one at 20 weeks unless there is a problem. I had a lot of anxiety about miscarriage and all those things so my midwife gave me one at my first appointment but it's not the norm for them.
