Thank God you have your rings back!!!
Is there any way that DH found them and felt like a doof and so he put them back and tried to act like he knew nothing about it?
Or that someone snuck into the house and returned them to you guys?
Did DH go out and buy you a new set bc he knew you were so upset about it and they are just identical?
I would be sitting there trying to come up with every single possible explanation?

So, after 3 days of searching like crazy, dissecting our room & every other spot in the house, getting a plumber to use his camera to see down our pipes 100 feet in both directions, I can not believe what I saw. The desk in the pic had been stripped down and then I put everything back piece by piece. I even looked under the keyboard. Jay looked on the desk, under it, around it....Nothing. This desk was completely clean. Nothing was on it! Jay & I were changing Trevor tonight & getting him ready for bed when I glanced over & saw a receipt with a shiny object poking out. Knowing that I hadn't put anything on that desk, I looked closer & my knees buckled. There were my rings! I had to take a picture because there is NO WAY that I missed it. Anyone who's looking for something on a desk, who cleans it off completely, would not just place a receipt folded in half with 2 rings in it without noticing. As you can see, it is in plain sight! We sat there dumfounded. I can not believe I was looking at my rings that I thought were sitting in a sewer down the block. I still can't believe it. Jay swears that he did not put them there.
Now, while I'm not a religious fanatic, (and to my Mom's dismay I will admit I haven't prayed hard in months,) I can tell you that I prayed when I left the house tonight to pick up milk. I just asked that if my rings were going to be found, that He show them to me tonight even if it was only in a dream, and if they were not to be found, then to please give me some sort of peace about losing them because I have been sick over it. Well, 25 minutes later, I come home & there were my rings. Right there. Jay swears they weren't there before either. Believe what you will, but I have no doubt that this was some kind of divine intervention.
Look at the picture. If you were looking for something on a desk, is that something you would've just overlooked? It is in plain sight! CRAZY!!!!! Crazy I tell ya! We both are scratching our heads, and even Jay can't wrap his head around this. He's not one for admitting divine intervention, but he has yet to come up with a better explanation. Neither one of us put that receipt there. And the icing on the cake with this one is the words on the back of the receipt. It says THANK YOU. Maybe Someone up there was happy to hear from me again. Oh well, thank God, Mazel Tov, Happy Kwanzaa, whatever works for you. I am beyond thrilled that they've been found, and I don't ever think I'll take them off, not even for a shower. Oh, and I'm thinking maybe Jay will probably get them insured this time. :o) Thanks for reading! I can finally get some sleep tonight!!!!! Goodnight everyone! Love, Dawn

I dont mean to be rude and ask you this...but I saw recently you had a party at your home for your DCs bday? If this happened around the same time, is there any chance someone took them and then felt guilty and put them back in your home? That thought crossed my mind, obviously though, I dont know what your timeline was for all of the events.

I'm glad you found them! I know you mentioned you live in a townhouse..do you rent? If so, I would be concerned maintenance came in and took them, then after all the hoopla with the plumber, etc., they put them back. It's too weird that you didn't notice them, and I'm sorry, I don't think God just put them there

....and def. get them insured. My sister recently lost her rings..thinks her daughter threw them in the diaper genie, which got emptied. Thank goodness they had them insured.

To answer your questions:
Yeah, I asked him & he was adamant about not doing it. And he's never ever lied to me about anything in the 9 years we've been together. I begged him to tell me if it was him & he swore he didn't. Plus, the receipt that they were in was in my pocket book, inside my wallet, in a back compartment along with a gift card from Christmas. I WASN'T even home! I went to Shop-Rite and came back & they were there.
No-one could've snook inside our place. DH was home with DS, and it's a small condo. Someone would've had to climb up a ladder in our back yard, come through the window, get back down, and carry a ladder back with them. Plus we have 2 dogs that would've been barking their heads off. Oh, and the window is locked from the inside.
Not a chance DH went out in the last 3 days to find an exact replica of these rings as the e-ring was customized. The stone is an heirloom with a tiny crack on the underside. Still there. Plus, DH has never lied to me EVER. This is not something he would hide from me. Same crack underneath, same ring.
It is boggling our minds how they just appeared there. DH is NOT a religious person at all. He's actually a non practicing Jew, but doesn't really buy into any kind of religion. He is still scratching his head trying to figure this out. We both are.

Nope, we own it. Any maintenance done would have to be if we hired someone. Except the lawn care. But umm, none of our lawn guys were in our house. EVER. Lol. And we are still trying to figure out how the receipt got out of the back compartment of my wallet & placed on the desk. We are so dumbfounded.

Not rude at all. But I had to  that you thought we had the party at our house!  That's a renovated mansion. It's the Smithtown Elks Lodge. Whew! I wish that was my place! I actually wrote a review of the party on the Parenting Board. The weird thing is, I lost them on Saturday, stayed home all day Sunday & searched for them, no one came in our house until Monday, and even then it wasn't INSIDE our home, it was in our back yard. No one came in. And no one could've taken that receipt out of my wallet. It's so crazy.
