UPDATE.....ok ladies..talk to me please TMI
I started getting brown discharge yesterday...I have no cramping. Just went to the bathroom. Again there was brown discharge but when I went to wipe there was thick brown discharge and red blood. I wiped a few times and now it is gone. No clots, no cramping. DH & I did make love last night.
Called my doctor but b/c I am a new patient, never been seen by them, they cant help me. They just suggested I go to the ER.
Not sure what I should do.......

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to say thank you for all of your support. Sadly, I am in fact having a miscarriage.  I, of course, am very sad but in general are doing ok. I am def cramping but the pain isn't too bad. I spent Monday evening in the ER and was told I was in the beginning stages. Today while at work it started to come on heavy so I left & went home. I am just relaxing at home now but, as per the OB attending I saw Monday night, I will have to go back on Wed. I just pray I won't need a D&C. It's honestly a slightly sureal experience. I kept expecting someone to look at me & say, "No worries, your baby is just fine". No one did and my beta came back at 622, no fetal pole or yolk sac. So, this is where we are.
DH has been AMAZING (not that I would expect anything less) but he has helped me put this situation in a good "place" in my heart. I hope and pray that I will be able to join you again very soon. My greatest heart ache right now is that I know my DH is hurting and is masking it so he can be strong for me. He wants to be a daddy so badly.
I will continue to check in and pray for each of you and your babies.

I would think they should still see you. How far along are you? If you can't put your mind at ease without it, you should go to the er.

Don't worry just yet -- it could just be old blood that got shifted during  .
As long as there is no cramping and excess bright red blood, try your best not to freak out. I think it's premature for them to say go to the ER because that will just stress you out more.
I'd probably just wait it out because even if you do go to the ER and it was the worst case scenario...they couldn't help you. It would just be hours wasted in there.
I'm thinking it's just spotting from the sex...just keep monitoring it.

i had brown spotting around 7 or 8 weeks... it only lasted a day and was only when i wiped. my doctor said it was probably old implantation blood. brown means old blood so don't worry unless you're cramping heavy and the blood is bright red/heavy.

wow....i've read posts b/f while I was a lurker about women bleeding....never realized how scary it can actually be.

if it gets worse (more bright red blood) i'd go to the ER. if not, just try to relax... brown blood = old blood.
im surprised the dr. wouldnt see you though.

I second this. I had similar brown spotting at 14.5 weeks (only on a liner, nothing when I wiped) and freaked out. I called my OB's emergency line because it was a Saturday and they told me if I had cramping or if it turned to bright red blood to go to the ER, otherwise to take it easy and call Monday morning. I went home and found the hb with our doppler - which was worth every penny at that moment - and everything turned out to be OK. We had BD two days earlier and I was told it could be from that, or totally random.
I'm surprised your doctor wouldn't let you come in to get checked out! Mine would have if the office was open.
Spotting is unbelievably scary, but also very common especially during first tri. There are many women on here who have had spotting and went on to have perfect pregnancies and I hope you are one of them.
