I would be nervous if it didn't work out, because it will make things awkward at family gatherings

Wow...I had to think about this for awhile. I probably wouldnt care. The only thing is...it can get bad if they end up in a serious relationship and then they fight and break up...if its just a one time...few time thing...I wouldnt worry. But I can see how it can be a concern.

I wouldn't care as long as any possible drama is kept away from you or your FH. (Especially if they are in the wedding party)

Re: Upset- question

I would be upset, DH would be really mad. He doesn't like hearing about his sister kissing guys her own age (she's 19) let alone a 23 year old guy he knows. He would HATE HATE HATE it.

I wouldn't care other then the fact that I would want them to keep us out of their arguments etc. Its not blood relatives so I don't see what the big deal is.

And I guess if it doesn't work out it might be a little bit uncomfortable, but other then that, no.

Re: Upset- question

i wouldnt care honestly, but i would explain to them that they better be careful because if they do break up on a bad note, they will have no choice but to see each other at family parties and get togethers

but thats coming from someone who has a twin brother and we are both used to dating each others friends and everything

I wouldn't be angry. But it is going to be totally awkward forever!

One of my friend's BIL hooked up with her really close friend. It was a disaster. This was 7 years ago and they can't be in the same room together and that is a FRIEND!!

Re: Upset- question

coming from someone who experienced something similar, i wouldn't be mad but it would be totally awkward. and let's just say, it didn't work out. now they avoid each other at family functions. still makes me uncomfortable!

i really think people should be more considerate of the long term effects their actions can have.

I don't know, it could work.

My next door neighbors sister is married to her husbands twin brother, its like 20 years now, so it could be okay.

Re: Upset- question

Yes. Not only will it make any kind of group gathering funky because more than likely it won't work out, but she is WAY young IMO to be hooking up, but I'm a little old fashioned that way.
