Sorry but i have to disagree.....
Back when i was in grade school (before light and the wheel was invented) we all got cards...All the kids filled out a card for everyone...
I do not see anything wrong with this...
friendship day...how stupid
I agree.

Re: Valentine 's are not allowed
So did I, but our school says that they can't have any "treats" attached to them (lollipops, chocolates etc) b/c of food allergies. I understand about the allergies but come on!
My nephew has life threatening food allergies and he goes through this every day. If someone has peanut butter or candy with peanuts and just touches him with some of it on his skin he will go into anaphalactic(sp?) shock-so it is very important that the food rules apply. I'm kind of on the fence about the parents buying a card for every kid. I think it would be a nicer idea to let the kids use their left brain the day before everyone makes a card and then everyone picks a crad out of a box-then the parents don't have to spend the $$ and every kid gets a card

I think that as long as all the kids get cards, its fine. As long as the parents are aware that anyone who brings a card should bring one for everyone, who needs "friendship" day? Come on

Re: Valentine 's are not allowed
I always send in cards for all the kids & the teacher. I also send in Gooddy bags but the teacher hands them out right before they go home and they are little sealed bags.

I know 90% of the school holidays are now called other things not to offend anybody ...but this is getting ridiculous. My daughter brings home a note today they are having a friendship day party at school NO Valentines! It is so different from when I was a kid
UGH... so ridiculous... no Happy Holidays in December because it offends the born agains. etc...
Don't these people have other, more important things to worry about If they had REAL problems...

Re: Valentine 's are not allowed
I'm thinking maybe they don't want to call it Valentines because of the adult romantic connotation. I do agree it has gotten out of hand
