Varicocele Surgery - Question
Lately, I have been MIA. For those of you not familiar with our story, we are dealing with severe MFI due to cancer. The frozen sperm we are working with is less than ideal.
We have been TTC since August 2010. We have had 2 failed IVF cycles earlier this year. Since August, we have been in a holding pattern. My DH is currently seeing a urologist. He has been on medication to raise his T-levels and so far, so good.
He is having varicocele surgery on Wednesday. I am praying that this surgery allows him to produce some sperm.
So, if your DH has had this surgery done, I have a question:
How long was the recovery? I am obviously taking off the day of the procedure, but should I be prepared to take off the next day as well. I teach so it is better if I know ahead of time how many days I will be out so I can get plans ready for my sub.
TIA!

Re: Varicocele Surgery/Embolization - Question
i don't have any info really either but i wanted to say i'm hoping this does the trick for your DH! my DH had varicocele surgery but he's an old man and it was literally like over 20 years ago so i'm sure the way they do the surgery is more advanced now.

Re: Varicocele Surgery/Embolization - Question
My DH had varicocelectomy in September and we are both teachers but I only took one day off with him. He took off two days plus had the weekend to recover but he definitely went back to early and suffered some bleeding. Good luck

Re: Varicocele Surgery - Question
My DH just went for a consult to talk abt the surgery recently. Doc said about a week for him to fully recover. Im sure if its a wk for full recovery, then the worst of it must be over in a couple days at most. GL!

Re: Varicocele Surgery - Question
My husband had bilateral varicocele surgery almost 2 years ago. I believe he had it done on a Friday. I took off and went with him. He was fine later that afternoon, just sore. He was back at work on Monday with no problems and he has over a 1 1/2 hour commute to the upper east side. He had to wear a "support" for a week.
