Vegas hotel recommendation? Update

Hi,

Can you guys recommend a centrally located hotel on the strip? We will not be renting a car. Any ideas? Thanks!

Update: Ok just booked the Wynn. It was actually cheaper than Bellagio! Thanks for your help girls! :)

I've stayed at NY NY, Caesar's Palace and The Mirage and they were all in a great location. My favorite is the Venetian, but i've never stayed there!

We did Paris for our HM and loved it (I had actually stayed there once before with a friend who was on a business trip).

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

How much do you want to spend? I heard Bellagio is running good rates right now! I like the location but never seen the rooms. I really love Venetian and the Palazzo but could be $$$$ - we always get put up there when DH has mtgs in Vegas.

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

I would book the best deal of a hotel you're willing to stay at anywhere on the strip.
There's plenty of cabs in front of all the hotels and bus service up & down the strip.

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

I just got back from Vegas last week for the first time. We did a TON of walking...the strip can be much longer than you think. We wound up staying at the Mirage which was great.

We actually didn't wound up spending just as much time at other hotels as we did in our own (except for when we were sleeping). Just in my opinion, next time we go back I will take whoever is offering the cheapest rates betwee the Mirage, Venetian, Caesers, Paris and Bellagio because of their location (center strip). Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and NY NY were a little further away. We had a great time at each of these places too but would just want to be more centrally located. Just a preference.

I'm going on Saturday. We are staying in two hotels due to my DH's work conference. The first hotel we are staying in is the MGM. Definitely not centrally located.

We also staying at the Venetian. I really like this hotel and location. I have also stayed at the Bellagio and Mirage but overall prefer the Venetian.

Thanks girls!! Right now it's in between Bellagio and Mirage. Bellagio is $120 more for the 5 days.

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

Bellagio is GORGEOUS but there are soooooooo many nice hotels right there. Check the deals on travelzoo. They all run specials. Mirage is really nice too but if you're looking to save ur money to gamble- just stay at the Flamingo. Its nice enough, centrally located and honestly in Vegas....how much time do u really spend in your room????

ENJOY!!! Its one of my fav travel destinations!!!!

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

We stayed at the MGM which is right next to NY NY. Its not in the middle of the strip but def. within walking distance to the other hotels.
I didnt really like the MGM. I mean, dont get me wrong, it was a beautiful hotel and the rooms were beautiful but I felt that it was just way WAY too big.

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

I just got back from Vegas and stayed at The Flamingo...I highly recommend! We paid an average of $75 a night, and it's in a great, centrally located location with an awesome pool areas.

They also have a shuttle to/from the airport for six bucks (better than the $30 cab fare)

Re: Vegas hotel recommendation?

Definitely the Bellagio -- for the prices that they are giving right now it is SO worth it. We were in love with the Wynn also if you need a back-up!

Is the Wynn in a good location? Sorry for so many questions-I've never been and don't know how large the strip is or anything. Thanks!

The Wynn is on the strip, but not in the middle. Its on the North End- furthest away from the airport. The closest hotels to the Wynn are the Venetian & TI.

Wynn is the furthest away from Mandalay Bay & Luxor.

The strip is very big, but on a nice day you can walk from one end to the other.
