Vent: I wish I could move my old apt with me to TX (water drama long)

I miss the yellow and green nursery SOOO badly.

Since I’ve moved in on June 26th we’ve had issues.

•Old tenants stuff still in the cabinets
•Holes in the closet walls
•More holes, more missing parts and pieces
•Attacked by seriously unfriendly painful ants
•Counter tops peeled off and had to be reapplied
•Tub in the guest bathroom peeled up and had to be reapplied
•Oven light won’t turn off, so we just took the light out
•Partying so loud by the college kids we were the only complaining folks
•Tub has since then began to peel again and so has the counter tops!


I refused to unpack all my stuff cause I want out of this place at the end of the lease.

Then … Last night. I pull into the attached garage and after opening it with my remote. I heard something funny but I wanted to get my stuff upstairs then come back for AJ who was asleep in the car. I ran up then back down and got her out of the back seat. She was still asleep and I tried to close the garage door and heard a loud bang and a piece of pipe covering came off by where I was standing. So AJ and I got back to the car to see what’s keeping the garage door from closing.

It was caught on the sprinkler head (like imagine water sprinklers in a business). This can NOT be good. So I got back to go into my apt to call the management office.

Half way up the stairs I hear *snap* *spray*.. oh crap. It broke open the pipe.

I rush upstairs dump poor awake AJ into her crib, pull up her side and toss a few soft toys at her, rush down stairs and see gushing spraying water all over my back end of the garage hitting boxes I have yet to move upstairs. I call the management screaming for help, I call Jim and I bang on a neighbor’s door. He was totally unhelpful then a lady offered to watch AJ – thank god. I got totally drenched moving my boxes out of the down pour. All while tons of neighbors watched the free show, not one offering to help.

After two hours of firefighters, apt management, cops, sprinkler people and maintenance folks. I found out I was covered in antifreeze and water. Which I had not only inhaled but drank by accident while standing under the downfall moving my stuff. The paint was melting off the walls and my car was covered in it to.

I took a shower, took AJ and Jim to CVS for some drugs for her (she’s sick) and then started to notice I was feeling woozy and funny. Called Poison Control to find out I had a lil too much exposure and had to sleep it off.

I love Texas but this apt is haunted. I hate it!

I miss my old landlords and the comfort of that lil apt i had.




On the bright side, AJ is fine, I'm doing better, and I got to scream at a stupid neighbor who walked INTO my garage while they were repairing the pipe to "just see what happened" .. i laid into him "excuse me, can i help you? Great, get out of my apt" (abbreviated for cussing an anger of course)

Oh no!

Thank goodness you and AJ are OK! Was there any water/antifreeze damage to your stuff in the boxes or your car? How much longer is there on your lease? I hope when it runs out you can get out of there ASAP!

That sounds so awful!!! I am glad you and the baby are ok though..

That really really sucks! Glad you and you and your daughter are OK. Hope things get better soon

so sorry to hear about all that, wow thats alot, you can always come back to your old apartment... we miss you....
