Verbally abusive home health aide?
Who would you report them to?
I didn't witness it but one of my tenants heard the HHA of another tenant screaming and cursing at the elderly woman who she is caring for.

The tenant lives in one of my buildings at work and I don't have any contact information for her family. I don't know what agency sent the HHA.

i wish i could find the number but i am about to head out to work ... contact
Suffolk county's ombudsman. They are there to help with these kind of situations. NO person should be subjected to that!

I've called numerous city agencies already this morning they are completely UNHELPFUL, including APS. I finally just hung up on the idiot at APS because she was arguing with me instead of trying to help.
This is so frustrating.

see if they can speak with the tenant and find out the agency with whom the HHA works. Thats the most direct way to help the person.

Why don't you knock on her door when the aide is there and ask her if she can refer you to the agency she works at because you need to hire someone for a family member

it depends. where are you? I would report it to the State. and the agency. but mostly the State. the AG's office has a complaint line.

if the person has ANYONE in the family checking in, tell them to complain.
daughter/son/uncle/aunt...makes sure they are aware of the abusive behavior.
unfortunately many of the people who quality for HHA's have some form of dementia or other loss that could be "used against them" without a witness.
