Verizon vs. Cablevision Voice

I tried doing a search, but the different topics were endless. Any advice would be welcome.

We've have Verizon phone service for years, which we've been very happy with.

Last year, we signed up for the Triple Play package with Cablevision (cable, internet, phone). We hated the phone service and switched back to Verizon within a month. We decided the extra cost was worth it.

But here we are, one year later, and Cablevision is upping our rates (Yay! ).

It would actually be cost-beneficial to sign up for their Triple Play package again, which would reduce our Cablevision bill and eliminate our Verizon bill.

But has Cablevision's Voice service gotten any better? We had a lot of static on the line a year ago, and it sounded like everyone was on the other side of the world (hollow and echo-y).

We live in the Huntington area if that matters as far as service.

Any recommendations? Anyone love cable voice over verizon? Anyone hate cable voice?

My Cablevision phone sounds perfect to me. No static or echos.

I will never get an actual telco landline again because the cost and fees are just a rip off.
