Very Weird ? about drinking alcohol...
does anyone get this weird pain in their jaw area. Like a painful tingling, almost razor like?
I know its weird, but I get this a lot and ONLY after drinking a beer, or a glass of wine.. And it hurts for a LONG time.
Its like razors in the sides of my jaw.
My husband thinks Im on crack, so Im asking here.

I get that when I drink wine sometimes...I think I am allergic to the sulfites in some wines.
I HATE that feeling!!!

Oh gosh Im so happy someone knows what I mean.
Sorry though that it happens to you, and yes it happens more with wine then anything else.
Sometimes it doesnt but I noticed last night I had a glass it happened, same tonight. and Im PO'ed I would like more then one glass but it HURTS.

yes...then too....When I have a whiskey sour ( OK, this sounds soo bad...I swear Im not an alcoholic....) Or a sour drink, or very sweet, buts its usually only alcoholic.
Any way of making it gO AWAY?

it could be the sulfites
try a wine low in sulfites and see if that helps
otherwise, maybe you are just wierd!!

I just googled it a bit. Found a board that had an example JUST liek what Im describing.
Another question..anyone who said yes..do you have TMJ issues or grinding of the teeth..I have that...and i think there may be a link?

Could be TMJ or some other disorder. Have you told your Dr. about it?
nah thought Iw as weird.
BUt google is a godsend...a few pages later I have found out that the area is the submandibular gland area ( and I have TMJ..a mandibular disorder) and that particular gland controls sour and bitter tastes....and well its all making sense and I can now explain to my Dr. better. LOL ....
Also how water makes it instantly better , meaning water flushs the gland out .....

No but I actually get sharp shooting pains in my shoulders and arms and neck when I drink alcohol.  It's odd.
