Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
I don't have them but that is a beautiful one. However, I am always not sure on weather or not I'd really like them.

I thought this post was about a boat that sank!!
They look so nice but water shoots out everywhere. Because the faucet is so high and the rim of the sink is so low water is always all over the vanity (it sits lower than the sink)

The bathrooms in my office have those sinks. They look so nice but water shoots out everywhere. Because the faucet is so high and the rim of the sink is so low water is always all over the vanity (it sits lower than the sink)
Actually, that water splashing factor is exactly what I was wondering about... someone told me no, it doesn't but it seems obvious to me that it would...

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
I love them but you have to think that if you plan on reselling your house, you have to stay very "neutral" so go for one that could appeal to all tastes. It's also an issue with children. 1/ They are fragile 2/ It's hard for young kids to reach

I have had this experience too. However if you get a deep one combined with a waterfall type faucet it might be OK

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
I like them but I feel they are very trendy. And they are expensive - if they are going to be "out" in a couple of years i don't want to spend so much on something I will want to replace soon.

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
Yes i have that sink in my bathroom..the pros are it looks great the cons are you need to be careful of the water preasure because it could splash out the sides and create a mess. I will take a pic of mine

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
How easy is it to clean at the edge where the vessel meets the counter? With that much of a slope, I would think it would be tricky to get in there and clean.

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
I work for an Architecture firm and my designers will only spec them if they are requested. They had so many complaints from people about water splashing out of them and creating a mess.

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
We put one in one of our new bathrooms. I really like it. It's a slightly different style - the bowl doesn't slope like that, it's basically vertical. The sink (from the outside) looks like it has a flat bottom but it curves slightly on the inside. No problem with splashing at all. The only issue is that the vanity does not have a waterproof top (no granite or tile or corian) it's just wood. We have to waterproof it I guess.
Here's a photo - excuse the mess as we are not done in there yet.
ETA - have to resize...

I like that cabinet. Where did you get it? Do they have other colors? We will begin work on our main bathroom soon.
Our guest bathroom is small and the vessel sink worked well. We do not have the problem with splashing and this would be a problem if the water pressure was turn up. You need to keep the pressure down.
Here are pics of our upstairs guest bathroom immediately following construction. The vessel sink is deeper than the one shown in this thread however the splash factor can be minimized as well.Image Attachment(s):

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
I have vessel sinks in MB. The only con I found is that you can't put a medicine cabinet with the faucet we used. We ended up putting two mirrors up which I wanted anyway. I will try to take pics for you which look almost identical to the pic you posted.

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
We have a vessel sink in our downstair bathroom. We love it. We get so many compliments on it. Ours does not splash at all even on full force. We went with a glass bowl and stainless steel accessories to keep a modern but neutral look.
ETA- we also have a granite counter top under the vessel bowl

I agree. I think they would like nice for a while, but then you'd start to see the gunk that natuarally accumulates.

Re: Vessel Sinks - Pros/Cons?
Thanks everyone!
The vanity came with the medicine cabinet and sink - I got it on e-bay for a great price. They are no longer a seller on e-bay but they have a regular website
vanities
Jerome8283: Here is the similar set from the above website - it's in a cherry color.
The tile is from Cancos - it's called Rocks Gold. Here is a close-up of the tile -
